Bringing Classic Tex Mex back to Preston Royal, featuring Preston Hollow's Largest Patio!
“We had a reservation of 8 and had to wait around 20 minutes more than our scheduled reservation time. It’s a very busy place but we didn’t mind, it happens. The manager was very helpful and even gave us queso on the house for the inconvenience, even though he didn’t have to. Overall a great place to eat and amazing atmosphere and staff. Would highly recommend to everyone.”
“We arrived right in the middle of the lunch rush around 12:30, and honestly, you wouldn’t have been able to tell how busy it was because the service was that exceptional. We were seated on the patio, which made for a really nice atmosphere, and our servers were incredibly fast, attentive, and efficient the entire time. What really stood out to me was the manager, Becca, who was actively working the floor and checking in on guests. It’s so refreshing to see that level of involvement—it definitely shows in the quality of service. Since it was my first time here, I didn’t quite know what to expect, but I left thoroughly impressed. I ordered the shrimp fajitas, and they were amazing. The presentation was beautiful, the flavor was on point, and my food came out surprisingly fast despite the lunch crowd. I also ordered the Sayulita and the house margaritas which was an amazing taste for my tequila lovers! 10/10 Overall, such a great experience from start to finish. I’ll definitely be back!”
“**5/5 Stars – Tex-Mex Perfection! Escondido Mexican Restaurant in Dallas is a must-visit! Nestled at 5950 Royal Ln, this gem serves bold, fresh Tex-Mex in a vibrant setting. The patio’s cozy with twinkling lights, and the service, led by our server Jerry, was spot-on. Chips and smoky guacamole kicked things off right, followed by standout brisket tacos and Guajillo Glazed Shrimp—perfectly balanced and bursting with flavor. Affordable, lively, and with solid vegan options, it’s no wonder Escondido’s a Dallas favorite. Already planning our next happy hour visit!”
“Great brunch spot, especially on a sunny day because of the patio! We got the elote fritters for an appetizer, which had great flavor, especially with the sauce. The entrees were the perfect size for a meal and for a good price. The carne asada had good flavor and was very tender. We did have a quality issue with the burrito, but we brought this up to the waitress who apologized and handled this matter appropriately and professionally. The donuts are served warm with a cool inner filling. The service was great and it appeared as if the staff helped each other as there were numerous people on the patio tending to patrons. Would definitely recommend eating here!”
“I picked up a to go order here today, and unfortunately the experience left me feeling extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. When I arrived at the pickup window, the employee had just been speaking with another customer. As soon as he walked away and I stepped up to the window, she began sweeping directly in front of me without greeting me, acknowledging me, or making eye contact, despite clearly seeing that I was standing there waiting. After finishing, she finally asked what I needed while still not looking at me, so I paused, politely said hello, and gave the order name. About 10 to 15 minutes later, I returned to the window to check on the order. The employee looked directly at me as I walked up, then immediately turned her head and continued ignoring me, even after I knocked on the window. I stood there for several moments without any acknowledgment at all. At that point, I went inside and asked to speak with the manager. He apologized for the employee’s behavior and said he would be speaking with the team to address it. As someone who’s fairly new to the area and enjoys trying new restaurants, this interaction was disappointing enough that I do not feel comfortable returning. Basic courtesy and acknowledgment go a long way, and unfortunately that was not my experience here.”
