Sited right in the heart of McGregor Square in Downtown Denver, Caldero balances intimate indoor and outdoor dining experiences with sweeping vistas of the city lights. Deeply inspired by rural Mexican architecture, centuries old brick and hammered copper catch dappled light during the day, while the vaulted stainless steel ceiling is illuminated like a lantern at night. The atmosphere is established by the sights and scents of the open air kitchen, while guests dine on classic, elegantly crafted American fare.
“Caldero Restaurant is a hidden gem for those who love a mix of American and Southwestern flavors. The menu offers a great variety, from hearty burgers to flavorful southwestern dishes with just the right amount of spice. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff is always welcoming and attentive. Whether you're in the mood for a casual lunch or a relaxed dinner, Caldero has something for everyone. Highly recommend trying their signature dishes, they’re packed with flavor. Definitely a go-to spot for anyone in the area.”
“My husband and I enjoyed the ALASKAN HALIBUT herb butter, Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, carrots, asparagus *buttery melt-in-your mouth halibut with a crispy coating - perfection! DOUBLE BONE-IN PORK CHOPS apple compote, grilled corn medley, mashed potatoes *The best pork chops he has ever had- tender, with a nice crisp on the outside, the sweetness (apple compote) brings another dimension to the pork chops”
“We ended up here and wow! They completely catered to all of our needs. We had a bachelorette group come and we also had some allergies. John took great care of us and made sure the allergen free food arrived first. The drinks are made perfectly, chips fried deliciously, and every plate had the perfect amount of food. I only wish we were able to change the music 😅 but other than that, very clean place that is very attentive . BTW they split the bill for our entire group based off of what we got. I’ve NEVER been to an establishment that is able to do that.”
“Great new restaurant by the ballpark! Hammered copper accents, blazing neon signage, views of Coors Field, and amazing food. The bartender whipped up a couple of mocktails for us on arrival. I had a pineapple mojito, and the wife enjoyed a refreshing fruit spritzer. The drinks weren't on the menu, but the barman was able to mix exactly what we wanted based on an admittedly scattered description of what we were craving. For appetizers, we ordered the crispy chile rellenos(served with green chile for dunking and smothering) and ahi tuna crisps. Delicious way to start! For mains, I had the cowboy steak, which was cooked perfectly, and my wife's tuscan kale salad came topped with blackened shrimp flown in from out of state for freshness: huge portions and so good! We wrapped it up with an order of malasadas, which can best be described as pastry chef level donut holes, fried to perfection, with a creamy dough center. They came with a dipping sauce flight of chocolate, raspberry, and vanilla on the side. I was unable to decide on a favorite, but all three perfectly complimented the malasadas. The friendliness of their staff was only outdone by the quality of their service. Our waiter, Zach, knew the menu like the back of his hand and was super attentive, as well as helpful. He absolutely killed it! It wasn't just us: the vibe in the restaurant was humming. Everyone seemed to be having a great time! Can't wait to go back. Thanks, Caldero!!!”
“Service was very good and very helpful. They where very attentive which made it very nice place. Food was okay. I wouldn't say it was the best but it was good. I would not go out of my way to eat here. I got the ribs and they where average. The wife got a chicken sandwich and damething as above nothing special. The best thing at this place was the Chili rellenos. Just order a bunch of these and your set. I will say they brought me a check before asking if I wanted desert. I made them take it back and ordered some desert. I think the desert was my favorite part. Overall don't go out of your way but if your close it's a good place to eat.”
