“Lokal is one of my favorite restaurants in Jersey City. It has it all - amazing food, beautiful views (especially @ sunset), friendly service, and great atmosphere. Have been coming here for many years and it never disappoints. The restaurant is huge and has large table options which makes it perfect for large group outings. I’ve had work dinners here, friend dates, and even celebrated my birthday brunch here and the experience has always been phenomenal! They have an events team for special occasions however for my bday, I didn’t want to do a prefix so I was able to book 2 separate table reservations and get 2 tables side by side and it worked out great (keep in mind being seated together might not always be guaranteed on busy days). Some of my favorite dishes are the Steak for Two, the lamb chops, Steak & Eggs during brunch, and the Brussels sprouts are hands down the best I’ve ever had. Their drinks and mocktails are also fantastic. Can’t recommend this place enough!”

“Amazing view and a modern, classy restaurant-bar with a relaxed atmosphere. The food was good overall, and they also offer a solid kids’ menu. The pasta and burger from the kids’ menu were delicious, and the fries were great as well. The tuna tartare was tasty, although the tuna was chopped very finely, almost close to being ground. The oysters were fresh. The cheese board had a nice variety, though it was missing a goat or other soft white cheese, and it was served on a ceramic plate, which wasn’t ideal for presentation. Cocktails were decent, and the ice was made of perfectly transparent cut cubes, something you don’t see in every bar. The music level was just right, creating a comfortable ambiance. Overall, it was a very relaxing and enjoyable experience.”

“Went for Valentine's Day with my boyfriend this past Saturday and everything was astounding. The first thing is the view!!! The view of the city is gorgeous, so surreal. The vibe inside of the dining room was relaxing; although there were so many other people having dinner, it wasn't loud at all and the live music for part of the night was very nice. Service was absolutely excellent and the food + drinks were incredible. We loved everything on the preset menu. The staff that night did a wonderful job of making sure the night ran smoothly.”

“The aesthetic is really cool, the water front is beautiful and the food was delicious. The only thing I did not like was the waiter was not very attentive and I’ve had better rock shrimp. It is a bit pricey here that’s expected . There are also a limited choice of food options.”

“We booked Sunday Brunch here yesterday based on relatively good reviews. The food was a little above average. The lamb brisket - hash was pricey - $34 - for the amount of meat that was provided. The shashuka eggs were delicious but only came with (1) piece of toast. Not enough for a whole cast iron pan filled with sauce and (2) eggs. The most disappointing part was that we were charged $2 for asking for 1 additional price of bread!!! This was just thin sliced sourdough - not some some fancy thick sliced, out of the oven bread. The drinks were very good however - Mimosa and Bloody Mary. The host and waitstaff were pleasant but not overly enthusiastically welcoming. They removed items very quickly from the table so sometimes we felt rushed. The ambiance is nice. Wonderful views of the River and Downtown Manhattan, even on a cloudy day. We may come back but not soon. Disappointed based on other reviews.”
