“The service and atmosphere is incredible. It is a small space filled with intention and passion. Aunt Yvette is very hospitable, warm, and kind. The food is very creative! She blended so many flavors in unexpected ways and our dinner felt like a balanced feast with hints of surprise/spice. I couldn’t asked for a better experience for Ethiopian food. I gotta say out of all the Ethiopian restaurants we tried, she has the best salad and the softest awaze tibs. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We ordered the vegan combo and awaze tibs. And of course to finish off the course, coffee is a must. Although we didn’t order coffee, they offered coffee candy 😆 For dessert, we got the house special ice cream. Today the flavor is bourbon ice cream. It’s a spicy ice cream. You heard it right, spicy. There is berbere in the flavor profile, super creative. They also serve anis star and citrus infused water. Super fun to try out all these flavors. There is a parking lot and some street parking on Colorado blvd. Better to get reservations even on weekdays. Thank you Aunt Yvette!”
“I loved everything about this place! It is a beautifully decorated restaurant that is intimate and welcoming. The service and food were outstanding! We got a veggie platter and fried Whole fish. Between two of us, we were so stuffed. Every detail of our dinner, from the rosewater hand cleanse, to explaining each dish and making sure we had everything we needed was perfect. Reservations are almost a must for this place!”
“This is our second time here, and the food has been consistently amazing. super flavorful, fresh. Their Tej is truly one of a kind. It has a slight sparkle to it, and it’s not overly sweet like what I’ve had at other places. They even let you taste it first, which I love. A tiny glass is only $7 — definitely worth trying!”
“It was our first time having an Ethiopian dinner experience we could not stop smiling it was so enjoyable the front of restaurant was so professional and accommodating, we came for the full culinary experience so we ordered quite a bit and we so enjoyed meeting Auntie Yvette a beautiful and kind woman as she explained the history of,.. and conducted the Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony . Auntie cooked everything to perfection but the fried fish, Lamb stew , Tofu tip, the floral water and all the vegetarian dishes all perfect and a delight we will definitely go back my 20 year old Daughter , about to receive her Masters Degree was honored with the first cup of coffee. We will definitely go back and I fully recommend Aunt Yvett's Kitchen it is a full Dinning experience, you should not miss and a must try. We did not regret this beautiful experience.”
“Time and again a stunning gourmet experience. This time with out of continent guests who equally indulged into the feast. Only criticism on that day (10-12-2025) was that the male waiter’s charm and attentiveness was rather missing. Asking 3 times for additional injera seemed was just the dot on the i. PREVIOUS REVIEW An absolutely stunning experience! From the start when we arrived for our reservation and were told to be brought in when the table was ready. Very cute and appeasing interior – almost ready to meditate. Yvette herself and her staff all charming, knowledgeable and a pleasure to chat with. Okay that in itself was wonderful, but the food including the starter tea and the dessert ice cream were simply virtuoso!!! So glad to have Auntie Y in our neighborhood, definitely asks for coming back … (Originally posted by me on yelp)”
