Good, authentic Korean dishes, reimagined with today's culinary techniques. Nestled in the heart of Koreatown in Chapman Plaza (Quarters BBQ, Origin BBQ), our restaurant is the perfect confluence between conventionally Korean dishes with a contemporary approach, a celebration of Korean culinary tradition presented with modern elegance for all to enjoy.
“I would have to say, apart from price- this was one of the only restaurant I re-visited three times because of how good it was each time. As a Korean individual growing up eating all the traditional versions of this restaurant offers, Danbi presents a very unique take on a lot of the flavor and the structural way the food is built is very clever and still tasty that I enjoy eating here as a different branch of Korean food that they offer. After trying out all of their winter 2025 menu, there are like two dishes that I think are so so but overall, they’re very yummy hehe.”
“Very good atmosphere in Korea town, we got lucky that someone cancel so we got seated right away without a reservation. The cold noodle is okay, you can better one elsewhere but the uni bibimbap is amazing with good amount of seafood. The pork is also juicy and soft.”
“A solid korean fusion. Scallop Pancakes were pretty on point. Steak was well cooked but did lack a bit of a wow factor. Perillia noodles were a good twist with very subtle notes and a bit refreshing and went well with the steak. A bit too dark to really appreciate the food. And also a bit loud. Kinda club vibes. Could transition to something a little more elegant considering the food and price point.”
“I was vacationing in LA and saw this resto on Tik Tok. I had to come try for the uni bibimbap cause it looked sooo good! They’re also known for their scallop pancake so we got both plus a squid salad. The uni bibimbap was definitely our favourite out of the three things we ordered. I first had a taste of the uni and shrimp before mixing everything. The uni and shrimp were sooo good n fresh! After you mix everything, you can still taste the creaminess of the uni. It was delicious. However I wished the rice was a little less mushy. Definitely good quality uni though. My husband really enjoyed the scallop pancake but it was a bit oily for me. He thought it was so good though . As for the salad, the squid had no flavour, it seemed like it was just boiled maybe? The lettuce they used was also way too bitter for it to be enjoyable for me :( it wasn’t really a refined salad imo. lastly I ordered a strawberry drink. The description said there’d be bits of strawberry in it but there wasn’t and it tasted veryyyy artificial. Like they just poured me strawberry “juice” out of a juice box for kids… overall I’d come back for the uni bibimbap.”
“Not particularly impressed. It is by no means bad food but for the price and the reviews, I was expecting more from a Michelin guide worthy place. The crudo was the best dish of the night with an amazing sauce that had complexity. However I think it would have been better paired with hamachi instead of snapper. The uni bimbimbap is good too because the uni, shrimp and ikura are simply ingredients that can speak for themselves. The japchae was disappointing because the noodles were very stretchy and way too greasy. Just a grease ball. The pork jowl was my favorite, well seasoned and well cooked. The zabuten was probably sous vided steak and grilled afterwards and tastes of course, good. But there's nothing original about it that makes it stand out other than the price. This also brings me to the cocktails, which were expensive and very average. By far the most disappointing thing was that I had diarrhoea late last night and my friend had food poisoning afterwards. It is unclear if the food was to blame. It was very unfortunate for the waiters because the service was great but it was eclipsed by the average food. Overall the three of us spend over $110 per person.”
