Porta Via’s cooking philosophy is to start with the best seasonal organic ingredients and prepare them simply. Our inspiring menu is designed to be both classic and creative, with just the right amount of imagination to always give our patrons the feeling they’re at a “special” place. A regular at many of Southern California’s Farmer’s Markets, owner Peter Garland and staff hand-pick produce to ensure that only the finest food is served at his restaurant. Wild-caught seafood and “all-natural” meats are brought in daily. The wine & spirits program highlights and compliments our California Cuisine. “We’re a neighborhood restaurant with a world-class feel – you wouldn’t want it any other way.”
“martin was our server and he was so down to earth and funny. he recommended me (i am 23 now my profile picture is old lol if this is the account im thinking of) the flower cocktail with vodka and elderberry and blackberry and lemon and it was very good and i do not usually drink in general because i cant stand the taste of alcohol so if that sounds like you these cocktails are very enjoyable all around. i got the butternut squash tortellini it was very yummy, something i never had, and filling. i also got the ahi tuna appetizer and that was very yummy very fresh it’s rice, then cucumber layer, mango layer, topped with raw tuna. the tuna was very yummy and fresh could be eaten by itself. i just wish more chips would be served with it as well as for the restaurant to serve bread please. other than this it was great time and i look forward to returning for another great dish and to see martin with great service.”
“Porta Via Calabasas is classy, cozy, and quietly flexing. The potatoes and leeks deserve their own fan club, and the chopped salad is that girl. Comfort food with expensive taste, polished service, and vibes that make you consider moving to Calabasas.”
“Perfect restaurant to host a family event. I hosted a baby shower at this location over the weekend and it was beautiful. We made arrangements a little more than a week out, and the staff was on it. They even printed personalized menus for our prix fixe menus. We had 20 people on the patio and had a wonderful time. Food was fresh and delicious. Guests enjoyed the ambiance. Alyssa, Rosie and our server David, took excellent care of us. No one wanted to leave. Lol I would recommend this location for brunch, dinner, a baby shower, bridal luncheon, Bachelorette brunch, literally any family gathering. For extra personal touches, reach out to their team directly. They're awesome.”
“The ambiance here is lovely, especially if you snag an outdoor table and soak up the fresh air. The location in charming Calabasas makes it perfect for a relaxed brunch, coffee to-go, or catching up with friends. The food is more than decent, it’s straight-up fantastic! I had the 5-spice tuna sandwich with truffle fries and my girlfriend got the steak sandwich… just WOW. Perfectly executed and worth every penny (yes, it’s on the pricier side, but totally justified). Our server Ethan was the epitome of hospitality, super attentive, friendly, and even let us bring and uncork our own bottle of wine. Absolutely fantastic spot, can’t recommend it enough! Already planning our next visit.”
“This restaurant is a great spot for a relaxed meal. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable, and the service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The food was fresh, well-prepared, and flavorful, with portions that felt fair for the price. Everything from appetizers to dessert came out on time and tasted great. Overall, it’s a solid place with good food, good service, and an easygoing vibe, definitely worth a visit.”
