Porta Via’s cooking philosophy is to start with the best seasonal organic ingredients and prepare them simply. Our inspiring menu is designed to be both classic and creative, with just the right amount of imagination to always give our patrons the feeling they’re at a “special” place. A regular at many of Southern California’s Farmer’s Markets, owner Peter Garland and staff hand-pick produce to ensure that only the finest food is served at his restaurant. Wild caught seafood and “all natural” meats are brought in daily. The wine & spirits program highlights and compliments our California Cuisine. “We’re a neighborhood restaurant with a world-class feel – you wouldn’t want it any other way.”
“The braised short rib with gnocchi special was one of the single best dishes I've had in my life. If gnocchi is ever on the menu at Porta Via, do yourself a favor and try it. Great atmosphere and service.”
“I had a fantastic dining experience at Porto Via! Both the steak and the fish were simply outstanding. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients, and everything was cooked to perfection. The service was impeccable—attentive and friendly without being intrusive. The ambiance of the restaurant is elegant and welcoming, making it the perfect spot for a special night out. Highly recommend!”
“Great and beautiful restaurant. The service from our servers was kind and excellent. The food was yummy. The fried calamari was so fresh. well seasoned and cooked to perfection. I forgot to take a photo of my crabcakes (2) and avocado salad, but they were also delicious. The double chocolate dessert still has me wating more a day later😅. Can't forget my hot mint tea, I could tell the mint was freshly picked from the garden. Delicious.”
“The vibe is very classy but still casual enough to visit on a whim with friends. We ate here with a party of 10 and the service was very good. As it went into the night the heaters were perfect to keep us warm. The food was good. We started with calamari and the table had rigatoni, chicken parm, and chicken paillard. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I felt like the chicken parm lacked a little flavor, but it was still good. I know most people in the Pacific Palisades aren't there worrying about the price of the food, but I felt it was more expensive than it was worth. But in the end, it was the perfect spot to spend a night with family and friends.”
“Food was ok, not what you would expect for its price. Except the burger, which was a 10/10 according to my company (which I haven’t tried yet). I had the Neapolitan omelette with nice crusty potatoes. But it lacked something and the burrata lacked all the characteristics of a burrata, it could have been mozzarella. The Chicken Paillard was big, but a bit too dry, even with the sauce. The ambient is very nice inside, bright and with a lot of plants, but you can also sit outside. Overall the food and service is good, but does not justify the price.”
