Porta Via’s cooking philosophy is to start with the best seasonal organic ingredients and prepare them simply. Our inspiring menu is designed to be both classic and creative, with just the right amount of imagination to always give our patrons the feeling they’re at a “special” place. A regular at many of Southern California’s Farmer’s Markets, owner Peter Garland and staff hand-pick produce to ensure that only the finest food is served at his restaurant. Wild caught seafood and “all natural” meats are brought in daily. “We’re a neighborhood restaurant with a world-class feel – you wouldn’t want it any other way.”
“I had THE best brunch here. Such a little hidden gem with lots of character. The interior is unique and the wine selection is top tier. What I like most is the option to sit outside to enjoy the day. I will absolutely be back!”
“We had a business event here, and this location is lovely! Our party was ~20 total and fit comfortably. The staff was very attentive, and the atmosphere was very classy, bright, and nice. Only deducted a star because the food served on the platters wasn't bad, but also wasn't great.”
“We had a great time at this bistro, because of their delicious desserts. The service was friendly, and our order came quickly. The Black Out Dark Chocolate Cake was absolutely delightful and my favorite among the desserts we tried.”
“The ambiance was superb, and the beef patty in the hamburger was juicy and delicious – I loved it! Several of my Chinese friends who were with me are fluent in Spanish, so they directly communicated with the Latin American server in Spanish. The server was very friendly and even provided complimentary bread before the meal.”
“We just ordered from here using Door Dash. My husband ordered chicken pallaird. . It said pick two sides. He ordered pasta and mashed potatoes. I ordered a salad with extra avocado that I paid for. My husband’s chicken came with french fries. I called the restaurant. She said, oh, we don’t have those sides. They were on their DoorDash menu. My husband would not have ordered that. He did not want a bunch of french fries. I don’t get it! Don’t put it on your menu if you’re going to decide what we want to eat. I like this restaurant. The food is always good. I’ve given showers here. But this is laughable!”
