Known as the pioneer of the New Orlean's craft cocktail movement, Cure has maintained its innovative edge since it opened its doors in 2009. On the menu is an excellent version of NOLA's classic Sazerac as well other creative takes on traditional drinks. As with all great cocktail bars, there is always the opportunity to confide in the bartender, who can whip you up something to your liking. For those feeling snackish, there's a menu of bar snacks, cheese and charcuterie, and the like. Happy Hour everyday from open to 6pm.
“Fantastic cocktails! The bar has a great atmosphere with plenty of seating at the bar and tables. There is a large variety of fun and creative cocktails to choose from. If you're into spirits, they also have you covered. I can see why it is one of the best bars in New Orleans.”
“Night out with friends, excellent and inventive cocktails. Non descript exterior and location leads to a unique cocktail experience. Highly recommend.”
“My friends and I stopped into Cure for drinks and apps before dinner, and it was such a great spot to kick off the night. The drinks were tasty and well-crafted, and the apps were light and flavorful. Just note that they’re definitely small plates—perfect for sharing, but I’d say 4 people max per dish if you’re splitting. Chill vibe, great drinks, and a nice way to start the evening!”
“In a city full of cocktail bars, this has hands-down been our go-to spot for the last 5 years. Each time we come to Cure, it is the same stellar service and drinks. Their happy hour, liquor selection, as well as their daily punch (always refreshing and fun) is incredible. You cannot go wrong with any drink from their staples to their seasonal menu. Additionally, if they have it, they will make it (Cock N' Bull). Their drinks were actually the inspiration for our speciality cocktails at our wedding. Our favorite spot to sit is at the bar so that we can talk with the bartenders. Outside is also great- we've even gone outside in hot months but the fans and shade make it enjoyable. We have brought family and friends here over the past few years, and they constantly rave about it. The whole staff is great and hospitable. Huge shout out to Liz Kelley who has made each visit spectacular and is always welcoming. Multiple times, I have been unsure about what I wanted/ wanted to try something new and her suggestions have never disappointed. No matter how long its been since we've seen her, we just pick up conversation like it was yesterday. Overall, the whole staff is great. For food, it's hard to pick favorites... but if we had to it would be the mushroom toast. The deviled eggs are also up there and are something I now make for holidays thanks to Cure book we received as a wedding gift.”
“A cool place. Nicely decorated. Went there with several friends. Doesn't appear to be a college hangout. More of a young adult and middle age bar. The drinks were good and the wait staff was attentive. The only negative was the background music. It was instrumental type music playing on a speaker system. It was incredibly loud. It was hard to hear people talking that were sitting in our booth. We asked if it could be turned down some but I don't think anything was done. Seemed like it never changed. I recommend to give it a shot.”
