Arden is the first restaurant from veterans Scott Dansby and Mark Mata. Mark and Scott first met at the East Village Mermaid Inn in 2012, where their partnership in running the restaurant fostered a kinship focused on great service, a fun inventive menu, and memorable experience for their guests and staff alike. They are excited to bring this passion to their new project, Arden. Arden is located in the heart of Crown Heights Brooklyn near the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, Brooklyn Museum, and Prospect Park. Our locally focused globally conscious menu changes with the season and highlights our wood fire grill. We have a full bar with an inventive cocktail menu and a fun wine list. Other Helpful Info: * Bar seats are reserved for walk-ins--we offer the full dinner menu at the bar. * Bar remains open one hour later than dinner service.
“Stopped by on random tuesday and the place was packed! Loved how cozy it feels, the staff was so friendly and the food was absolutely outstanding! We tried the octopus, the fried oysters, the pork chop the chicken and the fish and chips and omg every dish kept getting better than the previous one! So flavorful and each dish had it’s own different twist! We also had some cocktails and they were great! Absolutely worth stopping by and trying their menu, i can’t wait to go back for their brunch! Everything was 10/10”
“Excellent place for brunch. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great, and the food is good too. The large amount of natural light makes the place very special. I had a burger and it was good. I recommend it.”
“Thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience here. Staff is attentive and welcoming. My server chose my drink for me and upsold me on their Ahi tuna special. Both were AMAZING. I grew up in this neighborhood, I think this place is a good addition to the community. Many cultural dishes on the menu that I can’t wait to come back and try. Great happy hour as well!”
“Arden is darling. Small and personal. We had fried olives (because, what?) and they were good. Kind of lost their oliveyness with the light breading and frying. And the Emotional Rescue cocktails - Delicious. A cod special with mushrooms and eggplant and curry. And the Roasted Hen of the Woods mushroom dish. Everything was beautiful, balanced, had a lot of mmmmmmm going on. Also, super cute journals carried the check to the table, with comments and drawings. Very fun. We would def go back again.”
“What an exceptional brunch experience. The cocktails were outstanding, with playful names inspired by music icons—one after my favorite Beyoncé track, Alien Superstar, and another, Bidi Bidi Bom Bom, honoring the infectious Selena hit. Each drink was superb, with a subtly botanical character that felt especially fitting given the restaurant’s proximity to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. For brunch, I enjoyed the Huevos Rancheros and the French toast. The Huevos Rancheros featured perfectly cooked short rib, which proved to be the highlight of the dish. The French toast struck a harmonious balance between sweet and savory; fresh blueberries and raspberries, paired with a delicate caramel drizzle, eliminated any need for syrup. I also sampled the shrimp and grits, which were equally impressive. Even before tasting the shrimp itself, the rich flavor of the seafood infused the grits beautifully. The shrimp were plump, generously portioned, and cooked to perfection. The staff were exceptionally kind, attentive, and worked seamlessly as a team. I was fortunate to meet one of the owners, whose humility and graciousness left a lasting impression. I look forward to returning to explore the upcoming seasonal menu”
