Café Chelsea is an entirely new all-day restaurant at the storied Hotel Chelsea. The French American bistro, operated by Sunday Hospitality and partner Charles Seich, is the hotel's first new restaurant since the opening of El Quijote in 1930.
“I was glad that I could get salmon, eggs and green veggies for breakfast. When there are events at The Hotel Chelsea, the place really gets full and it would most likely be impossible to book a quiet meeting room for a separate meeting before attending events. If you try to join a conference call at 7AM at the hotel lobby, the noise coming from the street cleaning truck will make it difficult to hear the other party, but for a teleconference that is just a little under an hour, the cafe would be a perfect place for that. The cafe is very specious and you can get a seat far away from other people. You would have to wait for your food and drink to come anyway, so you won't have to worry too much about staying there too long when you are in a meeting. It would have been perfect if the cafe was open before 7AM, ideally 6AM.”
“Nice ambiance, a bit pricey, but the potatoes were delicious! I also got fresh orange juice which was so yummy. I heard they had matchbooks here so I asked the hostess who said they didn’t have any but I asked the waiter and he brought some out for us mid lunch.”
“They’ve done a wonderful job renovating the Hotel Chelsea and the newly added bars and restaurants continue that excellence. We had a fantastic holiday meal here with tons of delicious apps entrees and desserts. The cocktails were on point and we had a night cap at the lobby bar. Can’t wait to return. This place is young chic and vibrant but with old world charm. I see them going strong for years to come!”
“I had dinner here on Tuesday night. We were greeted at the front door by the manager who was extremely professional and polite. The interior is very well designed! Tuna tar tar was delicious. I also had the Dover sole which was prepared in the traditional French manner. Highly recommend this lively restaurant!”
“Excellent food. Excellent service. Brunch was very good. Loved my dessert. Clean restrooms. Enjoyed our visit. However, misplaced my gloves. I had to ask twice if someone would help me look for them. I would would have made this a five star experience. If you find my winter, women leather gloves, please let me know”
