“Carlotto is actually incredible. I have dined at Michelin-star places that left me less wowed. Every single bite was delicious. The focaccia is incredible. The yellowtail crudo and the beef tartare were some of the best things I have eaten in a long time. I was grateful for the bread to sponge up all of the amazing basil sauce and oil. We found this place looking for cinghiale, which we love to eat when in Italy, and it didn't disappoint. The pasta was fresh, and my ricotta cappellacci were fluffy and flavorful without being too rich. Every spoonful of sauce was placed with intention. The desserts stuck the landing. Granita added texture to the sorbet parfait, and an elevated affogato danced between bittersweet flavors. I was SO impressed. The service was excellent, and they knew it was my birthday the moment I walked in the door. While nothing of note was really done about that, I appreciated the hostess being aware at least. Overall, I was really thoroughly wowed. The attention to detail is amazing, and the food truly is delicious and well-balanced. This chef gets it.”
“We went back to Carlotto for the third time last night and left with even more confidence we want to return. The dishes were all fantastic. We especially enjoyed the Yellowfish Crudo, Beef Short Rib and Lobster pasta dishes. Each had excellent flavor and were perfectly prepared.”
“This restaurant was wonderful. The atmosphere is perfect for drinks out with the girls. They had special gluten free bread (I am celiac) and the pasta was delicious. My favorite highlight was the strawberry parfait dessert! The vanilla whipped cream was divine. Would love to go back!”
“Fantastic all around. The food and drinks were delicious; everything from the burrata, to the yellowtail crudo, to the pasta was superb. We tried the lobster squid ink pasta and it was perfectly cooked with lobster in every single bite. My mezcal negroni was one of the best I’ve ever had, and the sorbet was divine. Finally, the service was impeccable (we had multiple staff wait on us and never waited long for anything). I was very very pleasantly surprised when coming here.”
“It is an intimate and classy restaurant with an open counter/kitchen too. They serve authentic Italian food and a good selection of wine. We had the meatballs, cacao Pepe and rigatoni with pesto cream sauce and affogato. They were all delicious and fresh. The pasta tasted like home made to me. We chose this restaurant because it belongs to a Canadian restaurant group that we like when I was in Vancouver. I will try their sister restaurant (seafood) here in NYC next time.”
