“Love this chill little oasis is the chinatown swirl. Simple yet innovative dishes at reasonable prices - almost feels like an anomaly in modern manhattan. Can be relied upon for something tasty every time. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner all shine here. Feels a bit “undiscovered” and that’s ok with me, as it also feels busy enough to to sustain itself. Recommend.”

“We stumbled upon Dimes during the Canal Open Street fair and decided to sit down for dinner on a whim. The outdoor seating added a nice touch to the vibe, and service was friendly throughout. We had the miso chicken, salmon, shrimp ceviche, and Caesar salad. everything was fresh and tasty, though the ceviche was just okay. Portions were big and filling. They have a wide selection of alcoholic drinks, though not many cocktails on the menu but they’re happy to make something custom. Overall, a great spot for a casual, flavorful dinner with a good vibe.”

“Fantastic brunch offering. Really appreciate the attentive server who checked all the ingredients for dietary restrictions. Everything we got was good especially the black sesame toast (no refined sugar) and the power bowl. The maca matcha was unique too.”

“people will argue about the significance of the "Dimes Square" movement or buzz--dependent on what what side of the coin you're on. what can't be argued is that Dimes was/is what anchored the micro-neighborhood by serving up a healthy-ish variety of dishes in a chill cafe ambiance. West Coast-ish undertone in design and menu without being blatant...laidback and clean-looking but not sloppy... like your favorite pair of well-worn denim that works seamlessly in any mood or environment. the soft-touch lighting, modern-ish retro interior provides an intimate dining drinking + small bar area experience without feeling like your packed like sardines in a can. that said, if it's a full house, Dimes can be a bit loud. acoustics, ya know. while the menu is as much a draw as the digs with familiar diner-like offerings with unfamiliar influences...i find the coffee here to be consistently good if you keep things simple like an Americano when you want coffee as you make the rounds downtown with friends in tow or solo-dolo. most recently, used Dimes as a waypoint to grab coffee a few times recently as i made my way through things to do in the Chinatown, LES, & Two Bridges areas. Dimes has a nice flexibility for its food, drinks, and "vibes." definitely would recommend for a drive-by coffee or choose a light meal with friends and such if you have plans in the area.”

“So is this what people are referring to when they say “dimes square”? The food is just alright. The black tahini toast I got was quite stale and no larger than my hand — not really worth $8. My friend’s salad also seemed overpriced. The vibes are good inside, don’t get me wrong; the branding and decor are on point. However, I just don’t see the hype.”
