Sitting at the foot of the Williamsburg Bridge on the Lower East Side is the second location of Kings County Imperial, a popular restaurant born in Williamsburg, Brooklyn that showcases "a new definition of Chinese-American cooking," as stated in a review by Eater's Robert Sietsema. From sesame shrimp toast to mapo dofu, crispy garlic chicken, and "mock eel," the menu takes inspiration from a variety of cuisines, including Sichuan and Shanghainese.
“We ate at the bar and hung out with Brandon. He was awesome and made us feel so special! We got the Dan Dan Mian noodles and Kung Pao chicken along with the steamed dumplings. Definitely over ordered food but everything was sooooo delicious. Our drinks were absolutely fantastic and you can tell a lot of care went into them. Definitely recommend this location. The vibe is awesome.”
“Great experience!! Brian (our server) and the hostess tonight was amazing, and made sure we were taken care of. The food also hit the spot and was exactly what we were looking for. Lots of vegetarian/vegan options and accommodations too. Definitely coming back! Must haves/try: The tots & kung pao tofu”
“I really enjoyed my meal here. The staff is not only friendly but accommodating as we squeezed in 5 people into a 3 person table. The plates are great for sharing and prepared fresh and tasty! And the giant cocktails are fun for a group.”
“Cozy, intimate spot in the LES. Soup dumplings are great and are worth coming to the restaurant just for that. I would not order the Sizzling Five Pepper Short Rib (the meat was extremely fatty and tough to bite/chew).”
“Tried this place out the other day with a few friends - it was okay overall, and tried a few things from the menu but nothing stuck out as particularly outstanding. I did enjoy the tater tots, the scallion pancakes, and shrimp toast as apps. For mains, the eggplant and kung pao chicken were decent. I would definitely go back to try other things from the menu since it was decently expansive!”
