“This place is always good. My wife and I have been probably 10 times in the past few years, and I genuinely believe it's one of the best restaurants in Brooklyn. The vibe is super cool no matter where they seat you. The mapo tofu is great. The dan dan is great. Kung pao. Five pepper beef short rib. The oyster mushrooms are so good. Soup dumplings. Man, you kind of can't go wrong. I'm getting hungry now. And the woman usually working behind the bar when we are there is really good at her job and gives great recommendations and makes killer drinks. As someone thats lived in Brooklyn for 17 years, and seen so many trendy instagrammy places that think they are god's gift to the culinary arts come and go, this places endures with consistently delicious Szechuan and elevated chinese-american dishes.”
“The service was absolutely perfect, warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. The food? A solid 10/10 - every bite was on point. Huge shoutout to our waitress, Clair - she was beyond amazing. Professional, kind, and made the whole experience feel special from start to finish. This place truly exceeded all expectations. Highly recommended, and I’ll definitely be back.”
“We had a date night here after a long time. It was a weekday right at opening, so we were able to snag a table for two without reservations. I love the traditional touch in the interior decorations. The classic Dan Dan noodles and soup dumplings were delicious. The five-pepper rib-eye and Kung Pao chicken were also on point. It was a delicious and fun Chinese food date night.”
“Kings Imperial serves up a delicious variety in a cozy and quaint atmosphere. Our server was quick and friendly. The food was all delicious, as you can see we all started eating before I could snap pics. The regular dumplings were huge! The chicken dish was a small serving (wish it had more chicken). Favorite dish was the cold sesame noodles, this dish changed my mind on peanut sauces. The fried rice didn't look like the usual fried rice (pale, seams like they don't stir fry it w/ soy sauce) but was very tasty all the same.”
“A great spot! The food is really good - while the presentation was just slightly sloppy for the dishes we ordered, they were punchy, fresh, full of flavor. We particularly enjoyed the soup dumplings which are much larger than regular soup dumplings - they were delicious, with huge servings of pork and broth. The Dan Dan mian was good, but not all that special - I would probably get the hanging pork noodles in future. Finally, the Mo’s General collaborative sandwich, BBQ Hanging Pork, was just amazing and one of the best things I’ve eaten this year. The prices are a little higher than you might expect but the portions for what we ordered were large, we ended up with leftovers, and the meal felt very homey. The service was solid, and the vibe of the place is really fun - low lighting, very moody. It’s a great place for a date, with several different dining areas and a mixture between louder and quieter tables. Cocktails looked great and we’ll definitely come back to try them!”
