Grand Army is a neighborhood bar and restaurant in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn serving innovative cocktails and a seasonal, sustainable seafood-focused menu.
“Neat bar in downtown Brooklyn: The atmosphere is pretty cool, I liked the decor quite a bit, nifty pop culture paintings and themed bar menu. Staff was pretty nice, particularly a host. The happy hour menu is pretty nice, food is quite good for a bar. The cocktail menu is nifty, some unique drinks based on a pop media characters. I had the Mini Mayor of Talkeetna, an interesting martini variation with Chartreuse with floral notes, and Yzma, a frozen coffee base cocktail. Give it a look if you are around the area.”
“Visited Grand Army this past weekend. Highly recommend making a reservation if you decide to go. Even though it was full, the noise level wasn’t uncomfortable at any point and I was able to easily carry a conversation. All the bites came out quickly and they were solid. The drinks were really the star of our time, because they were just that good. I will be back and trying all the things I didn’t get to!”
“Had a great time (as per usual) at Grand Army for Friday happy hour. It was pretty packed, but we were able to nab one of the last open tables. Our server was very helpful and attentive. Drinks were great and had the coolest shaped ice cubes! The oysters were also phenomenal, as was the truffle dog. Great spot!”
“The food at Oyster was good and the service was decent. The place has a nice atmosphere and looks beautiful. However, the prices are quite high compared to other similar restaurants. Overall, a pleasant experience but a bit pricey.”
“This is a neighborhood cocktail bar but also the kind of place that impresses at the same time. The atmosphere is sophisticated but welcoming, and they have cute outdoor seating. The cocktail program changes seasonally, and what’s great is that they’ll save some of the most popular cocktails on their regular menu, like the “I’d like to buy a vowel, Pat.” Their food menu features seafood dishes. The oyster selection is always excellent, and their lobster roll is good. Their bread is under-rated; it comes with a nice house butter that I think has paprika and has a nice depth of flavor. Don’t come here too hungry, though, as the price of the food options can add up quickly. The service is always excellent. Carson, if she still works there, is our favorite server, and she has given us complimentary tiny cocktails before, making us feel at home.”
