Welcome to Sip & Guzzle! We are a bi level concept offering two different experiences with separate food and cocktail menus. Upstairs at Guzzle you will find a bustling New York style pub. At Guzzle we are all about comfort and classics. Downstairs at Sip you will find advanced hand crafted, bespoke cocktails created by the legendary Shingo Gokan. Do you want to SIP or GUZZLE? Please double check you have booked for the correct venue when making your reservation. It will note either Sip or Guzzle under the time listed. We always encourage walk-ins, and keep a waitlist nightly, that operates on a first come first serve basis. Our late night menu begins at 10:30 PM for both spaces, and is walk-in only. We look forward to hosting you!
“Created by renowned bartenders Shingo Gokan and Steve Schneider, Sip & Guzzle blends Japanese precision with classic New York cocktail culture in a way that feels both polished and energetic. The upstairs “Guzzle” space is loud, fun, and approachable, while the downstairs “Sip” bar offers a more intimate speakeasy experience with inventive, technique-driven cocktails. I went to Sip on the first night, and on return visits I tried Guzzle and brought a friend back to Sip. The drinks are exceptional across the board, combining creativity with flawless execution. Much like The SG Club’s basement bar in Tokyo and Gokan, the drinks here are separated by themes. I had the Satsuma Creamsicle, Drunken Grandma’s Apple Pie, and a few others whose names I can’t remember all of them. Guzzle leans more toward playful mixed drinks rather than the high-end crafted cocktails you’ll find at Sip, but they’re still incredibly fun, and you probably won’t find a Yuzu Mugirita or a Super Lychee Martini anywhere else. Sip & Guzzle also has an excellent food menu with elevated takes on comfort food and bar snacks. I had the late-night SG Smash Burger, which was excellent, I didn’t expect it to come in a custom wrapper. I also tried the Electric Chicken and the Bikini sandwich. It’s ranked #1 in America for a reason. The hospitality and attention to detail make the experience feel completely worth the visit. Sip & Guzzle stands out as one of New York’s most exciting modern cocktail bars, delivering a night that feels stylish, immersive, and genuinely memorable. But remember just because you went to Guzzle doesn’t mean you‘ve been to Sip. There’s many reviews where I see people say the place was loud and the drinks were “simple or “crowded” or “basic” and they don’t get the “hype”, please try Sip, because it seems you had one half of the experience.”
“An exceptional little restaurant and bar that gets insanely busy. It’s difficult to g wet in but the cocktail list is very special, the food is very good too. The burger, while limited to just 12 per night due to the fact it is made from the trimmings of their A5 Wagyu taku sando, is really among the best in the city. Juicy, slightly sweet, caramelized shishitos and a sort of American cheese with age that really hits you. It’s messy, but delicious and very special. We loved the mochi fry and bikini, but special mention goes to the soft serve which was outstanding. We loved the Sun-dried daisy cocktail and the champagne grasshopper a lot, but every cocktail was great. The coffee martini is really coffee-forward and delicious, but may be too coffee-forward for your average espresso martini drinker - that said I strong recommend it if you appreciate good coffee. Service was amazing, server was so friendly.”
“Atmosphere here is just whatever but FOOD IS KING SO TAKE MY 5 STAR REVIEW!!!!! I came here with a few friends just to get the Hokkaido soft serve I saw on Instagram not realizing it's apparently the #1 bar in North America. So when I arrived (luckily I'm chronically early) I was confused by the line down the block 20 mins before open. After some googling, we quickly realized we just happened to get seats at a quite special place indeed. While waiting outside, we were informed that they have a special wagyu burger that they only make 12 of every day. Soooo instead of just soft serve, and with very minimal resistance we ordered the burger, a few cocktails (I got a savory one with sundried tomato tequila and Szechuan peppercorn oil that blew my mind), chicken+chips...and wow wow wow!! Honestly as soon as I walked in and saw that the decor is absolutely nothing special, I knew the consumables here would had to be unbelievable for them to get this #1 slot. And it did not disappoint. Truly the burger was probably the best one I've ever had in life, and I have been to all the major "top burgers in NYC" spots. The chicken + chips was such an unusual presentation with an even more unusual flavor profile consisting of...green salsa, guac, and pineapple in a parfait type format? And of course the soft serve that was our whole reason for coming was absolutely PEAK. I think next time I'll have to come alone so I don't have to share ice cream or burger...and maybe try the world's thinnest sandwich as well. Service was excellent and communicative, and very chill / down to earth. Overall just a wonderful time. 10/10 definitely coming back!!!”
“An absolute gem in NYC. The vibes were unmatched from the moment we walked in — such an amazing atmosphere that made the whole experience feel special. We were downstairs at Sip for my bf’s birthday. Ryan and the other guys took the best care of us down there! The food was incredible, every dish was packed with flavor and beautifully prepared. But the real standout was the service. We were treated so well the entire night, and every recommendation given to us was spot on. You can tell the staff genuinely cares about creating a great experience. Easily one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in the city. Can’t wait to come back!”
“We walked in and got a table at Guzzle, the top floor table area surprisingly easily but if you want the lounge vibe of Sip I’m not sure what you would do. The drink menu is printed but the food menu is online so I suggest you browse their website for food before going. It’s a vibey and pricey-for-food spot but it delivers overall and on the details. It’s loud but the music was good and we could still talk. We got the yuzu murgirita and Miami vice Negroni and like both. The shiso or plum leaf of the yuzu murgirita imparted an almost pear like flavor. I appreciated the smaller salt crystals on the rim. The strawberry impression on the Miami vice Negroni ice cube was a nice touch. We shared the seasonal Hokkaido soft serve with lemon marmalade and and white chocolate shell. Neither of us actually like white chocolate or the taste of the shell but enjoyed the magic shell cracking experience the lemon marmalade quality was very good with pieces of lemon peel that complemented the smooth and creamy texture of the soft serve but there was just like 3x more marmalade than we actually wanted so it sort of overpowered the ice cream. I think this is a nice date spot where you can people watch others getting the well known mochi fries, electric chicken, pork Yaki, and bikini. Even the bathroom had what sounded like a Japanese radio/talk track playing over the speaker, which was kind of fun. The staff were helpful and friendly about checking for a table, asking if we wanted to order, and asking if we liked our beverages before we had already drunk half of them. I’d recommend you try this spot and would go back.”
