“Came here for girls dinner and did not disappoint!! Very good food and service, super cute inside. The Caesar kale salad is a MUST, we ended up getting a second serving of it because we loved it so much. We got the bone in ribeye special and split it 3 ways and my other friend got a seafood pasta. Very intimate inside so get a reservation for sure. Would definitely recommend this place!”

“In 2016, my husband and I eloped in NYC and had dinner on our wedding night at Il Buco. It was such a special, unforgettable evening that we wanted to return for our 10th anniversary. From the hostess to the servers, everyone was exceptional—truly a 10 out of 10 experience. Every detail, from the bottle of wine to the cheesecake dessert, was absolutely perfect. “We celebrated New Year’s Eve at Il Buco, and it was honestly the most magical way to welcome the year. First of all, I was pleasantly surprised that, unlike many NYC restaurants on New Year’s Eve, they did not require a deposit. That level of hospitality stood out. The special holiday menu was beautifully curated — diverse, deeply rooted in Italian tradition, and thoughtfully composed. Every dish felt authentic and intentional. Our waiter elevated the experience by suggesting we order two different tasting menus so we could try almost everything. It was the perfect recommendation and allowed us to fully experience the kitchen’s range. The champagne and wine selections were excellent and paired beautifully with the courses. The live music created a warm, festive atmosphere — elegant yet intimate — a perfect start to the new year. The dessert was heavenly — made with real, juicy berries and delicate chantilly cream. Light, fresh, and the perfect ending. And what impressed me even more: for two people, including drinks, the check was still under $500, which felt very reasonable for the quality, the occasion, and the overall experience. I honestly don’t think I could find a better Italian dining experience in New York. Authentic, refined, welcoming. Already looking forward to coming back and tasting more. ✨🍷”

“Good food and nice service! Food was delicious, but the cooking was unfortunately not even. Many of us eat a steak and some got well done when they ordered medium rare. I was lucky to get a perfectly cooked steak and it was fantastic. Otherwise I can really recommend this place.”

“Was excited upon arrival because the decor of the restaurant and vibe seemed great. However, in terms of food, we were underwhelmed. Scallops and pork chop were great, but mackerel, gambas, and crab pasta were all very mediocre. It’s also honestly insane to charge $18 for the sides, especially the spring greens given they’re barely dressed and with only a few little pieces of cheese on top. Bread was served cold, didn’t seem fresh, and was super impractical for sharing the way that the olive oil is served. Service was also lacking throughout the entire experience. Not rude, but definitely not very friendly main waiter. Asked several times for the same things (eg. pepper and water). White wine was served to us at room temp, and wasn’t offered any great solutions to resolve this issue, had to drive that ourselves. Our desserts were comped in the end which was appreciated, so the staff tried to make up for it, but it obviously doesn’t erase what happened. Overall, wouldn’t recommend to others given the high price point.”
