In Norway, cabins—or hytte—are an integral part of social culture. On any given Friday, you’re more likely to find Scandinavians sneaking off to these retreats than working late at their desks, and hytte are also a favorite place to spend long winter and summer holidays. At KABIN, we celebrate that draw to nature and good times among friends, creating an urban haven where New Yorkers can set their worries and schedules aside. From after work drinks and cozy nightcaps, to seasonal celebrations, KABIN is a place you’ll run into close friends, and where even newcomers will be welcomed and cared for.
“This review is for sitting at the bar in the mornings and trying various coffee pourovers with the super-smart and passionate crew, and other assorted nerds who were also sitting there. Some of the best cups I've ever had in NYC, and I've spent most of my adult life here. Definitely more like I'd expect in a Nordic country than the US. Looking forward to the next weekday morning session.”
“I went for coffee. This place is a sleeper. Kabin should rank with the top high quality specialty coffee spots in New York, with high level, knowledgeable baristas who pay attention to details and care for their craft; amazing hand brews; good pastries, and an elegant ambience. They carry some of the best light roasted, Scandinavian coffee brands, and make the best chai I've had in NYC. Those in the know know Kabin.”
“Came here randomly on a friday night and had the BEST TIME!!!!! Unbelievable staff, phenomenal playlist and huge cocktail menu. Had an amazing time with my friends 10/10”
“Always been a great spot for drinks, but very happy to see how well they’ve recently expanded into a cafe during the daytime! And unlike the thousands of NYC cafes serving mediocre coffee and the same stale pastries for $$$, they instead offer two things you really can’t get anywhere else; Tim Wendelboe coffee and fresh Norwegian Waffles with the traditional toppings! Additionally their matcha offerings are very solid as well actually! Pretty quiet vibe there during the daytime too, so perfect for some casual meetings or a quick work session as well! La Cabra and Kabin will be my go-to cafe spots in lower manhattan now!”
“I got the chance to visit Kabin while I was back in NYC. Unfortunately I got there late so I was only able to have a few of their awesome offerings. I definitely will be making my way back there for more drinks but more importantly for the amazing, incomparable, dynamic, @jordan_diggory. What a guy. Here's what I had: Sønday Evening - I'm not a coffee drinker but this drink incorporates a coffee cordial in a way that makes me smile. In addition to cordial there's, tea, baking spices, and secret ingredient Sunday Morning Oil. Slightly smokey with just a little bright at the end of the tunnel. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Karpe - A cocktail based on a Norwegian rap duo, sure I'll try that. This drink has chai, Mezcal, rose, mango and Aquavit all in a silky smooth package. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Kardamom Bun - "Liquor before beer, your in the clear." But what of you mix the two together into one delicious drink? Rum, Bourbon, cardamom, citrus, and can you believe it stout makes this heady delicious drink. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾”
