“A great restaurant to entertain a group of people, the atmosphere and service is very good with attentive staff and you can actually carry a conversation without yelling at each other. The food comes out in a more family style manner where it is recommended to get multiple items to try a bit of everything. The food overall is pretty nice and I would give it a personal 7/10, but I wouldn't say it is a great price ratio. It's a more fusion style restaurant, but the flavors are on point and I would not be disappointed if I we're asked to come back . My favorites of the night were the roasted cauliflower, Japanese sweet potatoe, Sea Bass, and all the desserts!”

“We had an excellent experience at KYU NYC. One of the first things that stood out was how big and impressive the dining room feels when you walk in—it immediately sets the tone for the night. The space carries everything that makes the Miami original special, but with a strong NYC edge. The vibe is unmatched: a true club-meets-restaurant atmosphere where you genuinely feel like you’re partying while having dinner. It’s perfect for a Friday or Saturday night out when you want energy, music, and great food all at once. Every dish was delicious. The Japanese sweet potato with butter (recommended by our server) was absolutely outstanding and a must-order. The bao buns, fried chicken, and everything else we tried were excellent across the board. Service was great, especially considering we were at the last seating of the night—we never felt rushed, which is a huge plus. Amazing food, high-energy ambience, and a flawless late-night dining experience. We’d absolutely come back.”

“This place is a dream. Cozy, inviting, and dimly lit atmosphere. Impeccable service, our waiter was so knowledgeable and eager to give us his recommendations when we asked. Came here in a party of two at 9:30 on a Saturday night. It was decently busy the noise level was moderate and it was easy to have a conversation in. I would 100% eat here again. We got a variety of small plates (caviar, tuna crunchy rice, broccoli, pork gyoza, etc.) to share and baby back ribs. The caviar was my favorite. We also split a bottle of French rose (rumors) which was some of the most delicious wine I’ve tasted yet. Everything was beyond satisfying. The one thing was that the bathrooms were a little dirty. Definitely recommend. Perfect for various sized groups.”

“Visited on a Wednesday around 7PM great atmosphere and perfect noise level for conversation. Drinks were well balanced. The tasting menu had some hits and misses: loved the crispy rice, clay pot rice with king crab, cauliflower, and the fall-off-the-bone short rib. The coconut layered cake was the standout and worth returning for. Some dishes were underwhelming, including the kale chips, fried chicken, and sweet potato. Service was friendly and attentive, but overall the food felt pricey for the experience.”

“Last week was my first time dining at KYU and they missed the mark. I provided feedback privately via email as well as in the survey that came after the reservation but did not hear back. To summarize the experience - Food: We ordered the following - Hamachi Crudo, Hamachi Crispy Rice, Pork Gyoza, Chilean Seabass as well as drinks. All four dishes were average, I’d rate 3 out of 5 stars. Considering the price point—everything was fine, but not memorable. Pacing: All dishes arrived very quickly, which wasn’t ideal, as hot items began getting cold before we could enjoy them. Service issue: The main concern was the service. Midway through dinner, my friend ordered a second glass of wine. I told our server I would like another shortly, as I still had half a glass. She did not return, so I later asked another staff member for my second glass. A few minutes later, our original server returned and asked if we wanted dessert. We declined, and she immediately responded: “I know you asked for another glass of wine, but my manager said we need the table back, so you can order from the bar.” This felt unprofessional and caught us off guard. I asked for clarification, “You’re saying I cannot get the drink I already ordered because we didn’t order dessert?”, and she repeated that they needed the table, then walked away. The interaction was uncomfortable and soured the experience. I have a hard time believing the manager approved the messaging that we can order dessert but if not, they need the table back (and will not bring the drink which was ordered earlier). At that point, my friend still had half a glass of wine, but I had none. Our bottle of sparkling water was also empty and we were never offered more. Shortly after, the check was brought over, along with an offer for 1 complimentary glass of wine at the bar (for me only, not my friend). However, there was no available seating at the bar, and given how rushed we felt, we chose to leave. We were there for barely 90 minutes, and there was no indication during the reservation process of a strict 90-minute time limit. I have never felt so rushed or unappreciated at a restaurant, and it was a disappointing experience. The lack of response from management was also concerning. Unfortunately, we will not be returning”
