For those who work in or near Tribeca, blessings have come in the form of green velvet banquettes and wood-paneled walls, carefully pulled espresso and extra-dirty martinis. Primo’s, tucked away in the Frederick Hotel on Chambers and West Broadway, is the latest bar to bring considered downtown vibes to an area that hasn’t been known for its late-night hospitality since the Odeon defined the city’s after-hours scene in the 1980s. In a relatively small space, Camille Deterre and Aisa Shelley have made a place that presents multiple moods; a cafeteria-from-the-future vibe in front and a warm, den-like space beyond. Both are at once playful and sophisticated, prepared to accommodate a nightcap post-Odeon (for old time’s sake), or an entire evening of espresso-fueled fun - Vogue In an effort to keep our community safe, we require all guests to show proof that they are fully vaccinated. The staff at Primo's are fully vaccinated as well. Thank you for your understanding as we work to provide the most comfortable and safe experience for both our guests and our team.
“Primo's is a lively, no-frills spot with a fun, energetic vibe that makes every visit feel like a good time. The drinks are strong, affordable, and come out fast, perfect for a casual night out. It’s a great place to meet friends, enjoy music, and soak in a classic downtown bar atmosphere.”
“If you are looking for a place to throw a private event or party, LOOK NO FURTHER. Antonio, Oscar and Jayson were absolute gems and made our night amazing - Primo’s is lucky to have them. They were extremely helpful, friendly snd attentive, and the drinks were fantastic (and strong!). The back room/bar was perfect for 50 people, with a built in DJ / mic set up as well, great lighting and sound.”
“We rented the back room for a birthday party and had an incredible time. Special shoutout to Oscar, Antonio, and Jason who took such great care of us with the perfect balance of fun and responsibility.”
“Really good and friendly service. Drinks were strong and well made. It was my Birthday and the bar tender overheard and gave us a free shot. It was very nice. Good music also.”
“Save your time and money to go someplace else. Came here for a quick drink during Happy Hour as we stayed at the Frederic’s hotel - service was extremely rude. $6 « custom » fees were added to our bill. When asked we were told it was mandatory service fees which were not mentioned anywhere. If you do the maths, that’s 30% on the bill. Tipping is not an issue but charging extra fees without informing customers and being rude isn’t ok.”
