Shaking Crab - Williamsburg

“I arrived at Shaking Crab for a little seafood boil last night being I would say a regular now and proud to say it. I wanted to shout out the server because he was absolutely phenomenal and he is every single time. Service was perfect, he was attentive and checked in several times. The establishment had a great family style atmosphere and the music taste was on point! The food arrived in such a timely fashion. This has been such a great experience and I will continue to go back! Seafood was amazing and don’t sleep on the Mac and Cheese! Wow, outstandingly great experience for a summer Wednesday night and the prices match the serving amount / service. I love leaving great reviews :) Have a great day!”

“Bill was $300+ which wasn’t surprising. They put the 20% tip as service charge. I would’ve actually tipped more but whatever. If they’re good with it, I am. I gave it 4 stars because the employees were cool, friendly and good vibes. I wasn’t real hungry so I didn’t complain about the crab legs. Everything tasted really good. Shrimp, potatoes and such except the crab. The complaint I had was I didn’t feel it was a whole 2 lbs, claws missing from the cluster and they were really small. Constant reminder when I go to these places why I do my own crab boils/steams. The crab is just never cooked right. Undercooked or over cooked, the meat sticks inside the shell and doesn’t slide out. Probably wouldn’t go back because of this and would expect a little more shrimp to counter this and some sausage no extra charge. Everything’s an upcharge. Just pretty pricey for what you get. Hope they read this and do better. Anyway, I feel like crab boil places are like this anywhere. 80% of them will always not properly cook the crab. That’s why I learned to steam and boil them myself. So I can pick the big crabs when they’re in season. Good luck.”

“I’ve ordered from this location many times over the years through uber eats. Each time has gotten slightly worst however this time was it for me. I wanted to treat my son to seafood for Christmas dinner and what we received was inedible. I ordered the seafood galore which didn’t come with the corn and potatoes like advertised. There was barely any sauce. The sauce was so reduced that it just tasted salty. The shrimp were so overcooked that they were falling apart. The crawfish was old and the meat was black. I also ordered extra snow crab with my order of clams and the crab legs were skinny and barely had meat. Extremely disappointing considering the order costs $110. This was the last chance and I’ll never order for this establishment again.”
