“My son and I were visiting from out of town. We had walked all day enjoying the city, but became hangry quick! Googled restaurants around us and picked Stout based on the menu and the fact they were still open for a few hours. Walked in realizing the ncaa natty was about to start. All tables were reserved but the lady running the place said they'd make space for us and they did. The food was absolutely delicious. We had potstickers, blackened salmon wrap, and tacos. All 3 were perfectly flavored and cooked. The atmosphere was obviously poppin with the game about to start, and throughout the night with everyone enjoying the game, food, drinks, etc. Highly recommend checking this place out!”

“Visited Stout on a Wednesday for lunch, had their Stout Burger. The patty was perfectly cooked and juicy. The bun was toasted with butter and very tasty. Angela was our server and she was absolutely excellent, she checked in on us several times throughout our visit and got the order perfect, making sure we were good to go throughout. Recommended!”

“Stout NYC—A Smash Burger in Name Only Today it hit 95 degrees and I got my first real taste of a New York summer. I am not a fan. At all. I had other lunch plans but walking around Midtown felt like crossing the Serengeti on foot, so I started looking for alternatives. Stout caught my eye…sprawling space, prime Bryant Park location, and I am sure a mortgage somewhere in the neighborhood of a small nation’s GDP. With that kind of overhead, I was hopeful the kitchen was keeping up its end of the bargain. Walked in, asked the hostess what they were known for. “Our burgers.” Sold. Sat down and let the AC do its work while the TVs blared sports from every corner of this massive, cavernous space. On the server’s suggestion I ordered the Double Stacked Smashed Burger on a potato bun. Now I have had my fair share of smashed burgers and I need to be very precise about something. A proper smash burger has ultra-thin, jagged, crispy lace edges, the result of the meat being forced outward during the smash, the fat rendering out, the perimeter frying to a delicious crisp texture. These patties were round, pre-formed, and cooked with the ambition of a participation trophy. Not a smash burger. Not even close. Take a look at the pictures…well, it’s hard to make the burger out as it’s drowning in cheese. 🤦🏻 The meat was mediocre at best and bad at worst. Somewhere between those two descriptions lives a burger that simply has no reason to exist. To make matters worse, it took 20+ minutes to receive this burger in a practically empty restaurant at 1:45pm. It arrived a hair above room temperature. The fries arrived in two states, undercooked and overcooked, as if they couldn’t agree on a lane. Stout knows exactly what it is—a cash grab corp sports bar riding a prime location with lots of TV’s and beer. The food is just there to justify the check. Act accordingly.”
