“A friend recommend this sushi restaurant and I’m happy they did. We made a reservation for their 15 dish Omakase special for $100 per person. Each bite was delicious. Only eat here if you like seafood, as 13 of the dishes were seafood, 1 was steak, and 1 was a cheesecake dessert. All tasty and made right in front of you if you sit at the bar. We went on a Wednesday and it wasn’t very busy at 8pm. The staff were very friendly. Our chef (I say “our chef” because we were the only ones at the bar for most of our dinner) was very kind and explained each dish to us in detail and where the fish was from. Overall a very enjoyable experience and would recommend if you’re hungry. I think they also have a rooftop restaurant as well but we didn’t go up there.”
“Great place for omakase. Really enjoyed the wagyu sushi. Nice but not overpowering ambient music. The chef table felt spacious and not crowded! I enjoyed the bar including the suntori toki and the basil Hayden bourbon. Both paired well with the raw delicacies!”
“Dining at Chemistry Room was truly an experience, not just a meal. From the moment the omakase began, it was clear that every detail was intentional and thoughtfully curated. Each bite had a burst of flavors (truffle, wasabi, caviar—yumm)— perfectly balanced, beautifully plated, and layered in a way that kept surprising my palate. The progression of courses felt like a story unfolding, with delicate textures, fresh ingredients, and creative combinations that blended tradition with innovation. Nothing felt rushed; every piece was presented with care and explained with passion. Chemistry Room delivers exactly what its name promises — precision, creativity, and the perfect reaction between flavors. If you appreciate elevated omakase with depth and artistry, this is an unforgettable dining experience. Thank you to K for a lovely dining experience!”
“Made a RESY reservation for Wednesday night and accidentally booked a table instead of the bar. Even though it was my mistake, the manager kindly accommodated us and asked if we could wait until 6:30 for bar seating. I really appreciated that — omakase is best experienced at the bar. We did the 15-course omakase and it was exceptional. The pairings were unique and perfectly balanced. Standouts for me were the lean tuna, oyster tempura, and Hokkaido uni. I also loved that they grilled the eel right in front of you — such a nice touch compared to places that just warm it in an oven. Located inside a hotel in the Theater District, so it feels a bit touristy and moderately busy, but overall a fantastic experience. I would definitely come back.”
“I came across The Chemistry Room while they were offering a BOGO promotion so decided to give it a shot! For $100, you get 15 courses and a complimentary soup. I appreciate the uniqueness of some of the pieces. Never have I ever had fried oyster acct as rice under a piece of marinated tuna. And boy was it good! The fried oyster almost had the texture of regular rice. I also enjoyed their preparation of the eel, freshly grilled over charcoal although beware, your clothes will smell a bit! I do wish the pieces were a little bigger, they felt on the smaller side compared to places I’ve had. I left feeling like I could’ve eaten a few more pieces. As for service/atmosphere, I personally felt like the pacing was slow and uneven. There was only two sushi chefs working the orders of the entire restaurant. Between the 10 or so people at the bar and the two big tables (not to mention the smaller tables on the other side), they could’ve used another chef. Sometimes it’d take a little longer between pieces and sometimes the pieces came out at a regular pace. Regardless of the BOGO, it is a decent omakase for $100. If you’re in the area and want a nice restaurant, this could be an option!”
