Inspired by a secret, poets-only club from the 1890’s, The Rhymers’ Club is an Irish influenced cocktail bar and lounge. Designed to mimic the secrecy of the original club, which included famous Irish poet, W.B. Yeats, TRC purposefully lacks a name above its door providing intrigue and mystery to the East Village.
“I honestly never write reviews, but this place totally deserves one. We randomly picked this spot on Saturday night & I’m so glad we did. I think it’s a 23+ spot. Not sure if that’s always the case or just on weekends but we loved it. It was so nice to skip the college crowd & enjoy a more relaxed, vibe without it feeling rowdy. The Crispy Rice & Spicy Tuna was unreal. Super fresh with the perfect crunch. I’ve seriously been thinking about it since we left. The cocktails were really refreshing, & the service was impressively quick, especially with how busy they were. It never felt chaotic or slow. Sean was our server & he was great. Super nice & made everything easy. I’ve been telling my friends about this spot all week. Definitely can’t wait to go back!”
“The drinks are good and relatively decently priced for the area - both the espresso martini and dirty gin martini were solid choices. Really nice interior (esp. considering it used to be Dallas BBQ - RIP…) and good service, great location for bar hopping around the area.”
“Efrain, Jordi, and Artemio are the best barbacks in the entire world, they always have the bar set up and stocked and ready for a fun night at work. They stock the glassware very nicely and have never in their life broken a glass. 10/10 would come back just to see them refill juices with the best precision .”
“This is a large space and suitable for event are large groups. The cocktail selection is quite expansive with a lot of variety. Staff are very friendly. The bathrooms require you go down stairs. I tried three bourbon based cocktails: the poet’s prescription, remember me, and midnight sky. The midnight sky tasted a little like vegetables which isn’t really my preference. The remember me was very smooth. The pizza and dumplings are good although the pizza edges were burned sometimes.”
“I recently hosted my birthday at The Rhymers Club, and it was hands down the best night ever! From start to finish, everything was perfect. The drinks were incredible, the staff were so friendly and attentive - they felt like part of the party, and the DJ kept us dancing all night long. The interiors are absolutely stunning, a great date spot! Special shout-out to Jack, who was so kind to reserve a space for me and my friends for the evening. Everyone had an amazing time, and I can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend this spot for any celebration or night out! 🤍”
