Relocated to Chelsea in September 2019, after 7 years in Williamsburg, ZIZI (formerly known as Zizi Limona) serves modern, inventive Mediterranean cuisine. Educated by some of the most notable restaurateurs in Tel Aviv, head chef Liran Leibman brings to ZIZI an innovative and unique interpretation of the long heritage of cooking he was raised on, creating an elevated and stylish fusion of different cuisines. While inspired by New York City’s eclectic and innovative culinary scene, ZIZI’s food emphasizes regional flavors using seasonal vegetables, fresh fish, free-range, grass-fed meat and chicken, and fragrant spices and herbs. ZIZI’s menu is based on Mediterranean classics, drawing inspiration from the diverse traditional cuisines of Turkey, Spain, Israel, Tunisia, Morocco, and Greece. The food is a unique, stylish take on a long heritage of seasonal, slow food cooking. We strive to delight our guests with our vision of Middle Eastern hospitality, vivid flavors, vibrant dishes, and some personal love.
“I came into Zizi‘s bar at 4 PM on a Monday. The second I walked and I felt so welcomed the study of this place is so beautiful it makes you feel so comfortable. The music is so good in terms of and not being too loud or too quiet. It just feels right. The bartender that I met was Maria and she made the drink so well they have a great happy hour menu. I got the lychee martini and the martini Mela phone. The owner was also there he was super accommodating and gave me two shots on the house I could not be more grateful. I’m telling you right now. I’ve been in the city my whole life. If you do not check this place out you’ll regret go check it out. The drinks are great atmosphere is amazing yourself a favor and go check it out.”
“Wow! One of the best mediterranian I had in a while. We were a party of 3, walked in without reservation and had to sit at the bar. Not too bad tho. We ordered bone marrow, chicken shawarma and overnight lambs. All tasted great, 2 main dishes can be shared for 3 people I think. Solid service and ambiance was nice. I love their twist on the free mint cucumber water!”
“Second time here and everything was amazing. We came here for brunch and had: halloumi, hummus (so good), babagsnush (could have done without) grilled cheese (a little too salty), shakshuka, the TLV breakfast and tiramisu. Everyone loved their dishes. Will return when in the neighborhood.”
“I had an amazing Middle Eastern dinner at Zizi in Chelsea. They have a martini happy hour from 3:30 - 6:30 so we started off with a lemon drop martini and a luxardo cherry martini. For appetizers we had the fennel confit with labneh, tempura artichokes, and grilled cabbage with a salad of snow peas, asparagus & arugula with a tahini dressing. For our main course, the grilled branzino. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent! A special shout out to Orin and Maria. The one downside is that by 7pm, the restaurant gets very crowded and loud. I will definitely go back, but a lot earlier!”
“Food was delicious! We like everything part of it ! It is NYC price... Good service: discret and well done. Wine list is limited but we found one that is great Good was delicious: small plates, main are worth it. Not blown by the dessert. Definitely a place we can come back”
