Fable & Spirit is an American restaurant in the Newport Beach neighborhood of Newport Beach.
“This was my second visit and it was just a lovely. It also confirmed my favorite drink was no fluke... the Ritual is one one the smoothest bourbon cocktails I've had in years. I skipped the burning sage experience this time (burning photo is from late 2024 visit) and saved the other patrons from a smudging (it is an attention grabber) and the floor from ash. The food is consistently good, with fresh unique menu items and flavors with the perfect touch of spice. I found the music a little loud and it didn't fit the style or feel of the decor which made for a confusing vibe, but it is Newport Beach and it didn't take away from a fabulous evening out.”
“Amazing dinner across all aspects - service, flavor, ambiance and wine. Loved every dish - read, carrots, rabbit, bursting, halibut, and bread pudding. And the mystery wine was really nice (and I totally failed on identifying it). Great service from Seth added to the experience.”
“Amazing food. The bread is a must try. The burger was phenomenal and the fries were S+. The service was warm and friendly, far above any chain restaurant. Well worth the visit.”
“After having both brunch and dinner here, Fable & Spirit is a fantastic place to eat in Lido for any occasion. Off the dinner menu, their Guinness bread and brussel sprouts are great starters. For the entrees, their porchetta was truly a standout for me but it could be too rich for some diners. For brunch, I enjoyed their loco moco and french toast. They boasted about how their chicken sandwich is considered top 10 is Socal but it was just alright. Service is also great and the staff is always nice and welcoming. They also have a free parking lot behind the building which is a huge plus.”
“First time to the Fable & Spirit, celebrating a birthday. It was a special event and we found a unique dining experience. Our waiter, Chad, was helpful with the selections and guided us through the many choices. Cocktails were excellent, especially The Ritual. We also tried Bells & Whistles, and possibly A Millie Here, A Millie There... As an appetizer, we had the Guinness Brown Bread which is excellent. Guinness Brown Bread is always a good choice at Irish Pubs and restaurants. The Rabbit Fricasse was recommended, so we tried it for the experience. It was flavorful and did not taste like chicken. I had the Fish and Chips, also a good Irish choice, served over the traditional smashed peas. Cane with a side of fries, stacked log cabin style. Ended by sharing the Bread Pudding a nice, light dessert. Atmosphere was a little loud but conversation was possible. Probably should have taken the Snug, where I prefer to be seated for Irish Restaurants. Service was exceptional and our waiter was very helpful. Food was placed quickly and hot, an important requirement for fish & chips. It was a little pricey but they hold a Michelin rating, so they earned it. At the end of the night, we paid about $100 per person. Parking can be a challenge but we found a great spot; not sure if we were lucky, or the parking lot turnover accommodates lots of traffic. Well done overall, next time I'll try the Snug.”
