The Goat's Beard is an American restaurant dishing out locally sourced food, whiskey, and craft beer. The restaurant boasts relaxed, chic vibes with patio seating and reclaimed wood walls.
“The Goat’s Beard is a fun little restaurant with, like you guess it, goat themed decorations adorning the interior. It’s a fun little place to just sit and talk. I unfortunately forgot my ID, so didn’t get to try the cocktails, but they sounded amazing. I got the Pork Tacos and signature nuggets to start, they were both alright. I do mention they are heavy handed on the blue cheese and it does come on top. It’s definitely very pungent and not for everyone. The tacos nice, but deceptively watery and saucy so I would be careful. The Vodka Chicken pizza, however, the worst pizza I’ve ever had in my life. I thought perhaps my palette was simply not refined enough, but it really was just thick burnt bread with a bit of cheese on top. Which by itself wouldn’t have been bad, except the vodka sauce on top was extremely bitter. It might’ve just been uncooked, but it was really just vodka with the essence of tomato sprinkled in on top. The reason why this place gets a five star is really just the phenomenal service. Rachel our waitress was super sweet. The only complaint was probably her recommending the pizza, but to each to their own haha. I did feel bad as she did went to get the manager as I was evidently not into the pizza. I was going to just eat the cost. However the manager was very kind and offered something else. At this point we were too full for anything else. She ended up taking the cost of the pizza off and we were very thankful for it. I would revisit the establishment just for the great service and understanding from the staff.”
“Charming spot! The atmosphere is low key and cheerful, the service is wonderful, the best I’ve experienced in a long time. The food is out of this world, the buffalo chicken dip and cheesesteak eggrolls are my go to! Highly recommend, it has street parking but it’s not hard to find parking quickly.”
“Great bar/restaurant in the heart of Manayunk that locally sources their fare. They have a wide selection of local brews and drink specials. I’ve also noticed they have an extensive collection of bourbons and whiskey. They have daily happy hour deals and the staff is very friendly. I would describe the vibe as gastropub style.”
“The food was amazing. Loved the pickle pizza and smashed burger. The pizza came out first and needed some salt. Had to ask a couple times for salt before they actually brought it out. We waited to eat cause they said they will be right back with salt but took forever. Eventually when they brought the salt, the pizza was cold. When the burger came out, the salt was gone again. I asked for it again and they never brought it back. The must only have 1 salt shaker in that place.”
“Stopped in to the Goat’s Beard for happy hour and had an okay experience. I started with the 30 day strawberry drink. Its a tequila based drink, pretty tasty. It had a LOT of ice in the cup, so maybe ask for lite ice. We then got the happy hour smash burger and fries. $10, which seems like a good deal compared to the regular menu $19 smash burger. However, the regular menu one is a double patty and the HH one is a single patty. The meat to bun ratio was off, and the bun wasn’t toasted so it was cold. The sauce was delicious and we loved the fries. The service was not great. Our bartender wasn’t very attentive. She also mischarged the drink at full price, I get it things happen but on top of the meh service it was more noticeable. Overall, it’s a cute spot but I don’t think I’d come back.”
