La Chinesca is the latest concept from Michael and Jeniphur Pasquarello of 13th Street Kitchens (Kensington Quarters, Prohibition Taproom, Cafe Lift). The restaurant borrows inspiration from the Chinatowns of Baja California, Mexico, serving up a unique combination of Mexican and Chinese dishes in a former Jiffy Lube next door to Union Transfer.
“10’s across the board. Vibes, aesthetics, food and drinks were all amazing! I love the outdoor spacing and how friendly + helpful the host are with suggestions. I LOVE THE HOTDOG!!! I still talk about this one present day. Definitely a runner up to my favorite Seattle dog. The birria tacos are exactly what they say they are. HIGHLY RECOMMEND”
“Cute date night spot. All of the dishes were delicious. We got the bao buns, hot dog, baby corn, cucumbers, ribs, chicken tacos, birria tacos. Will definitely be back!”
“Stumbled upon this spot after changing dinner plans last second down the street. Ended up liking the food here much more. The churro French toast had me immediately recommending this spot. We loved the food the atmosphere was great!”
“La Chinesca is an absolute crowned jewel. We were on our way to Union Transfer to see Electric Guest and stumbled upon this gem while walking to the venue. Neither of us had ever been there before, and I’m so glad we found it. The atmosphere is cozy and eclectic with a perfectly chill vibe. Even without a reservation, we were greeted immediately by a warm, pleasant hostess and seated right away—thoughtfully placed as far from the door as possible since it was literally the coldest February evening imaginable. We started with drinks. I ordered the On Empty, which was divine, and my partner had a spiked pomegranate lemonade. Both were creative cocktails, well-balanced, and incredibly delicious. For food, we ordered the chilled cucumbers, spare ribs, chicken tacos, and wonton chips. Every single dish was fantastic, but the salsa roja deserves its own moment—I loved it so much I wanted to bathe in it.We didn’t get many pictures of the food because we devoured it as soon as it arrived. Service was impeccable from start to finish. One of the staff even sent us home with a container of salsa roja after I asked if they sold it, which was such a thoughtful touch. I dishes with a black limousine which is like a tequila espresso martini. The perfect ending to a delicious and creative meal. Everything was executed perfectly at La Chinesca! My god, this place is amazing. We’ll absolutely be back.”
“My partner had a birthday brunch at La Chinesca in the summer. We had a party of eight and brought our own dessert (lemon tiramisu). I ordered the salt and pepper squid caesar salad based on a recommendation from a friend. The salad was fantastic and big enough to share between two people! Also pictured is the churro french toast and the burrito mojado. The plated the tiramisu really well too. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the place, and I’m looking forward to my next visit!”
