“This was just based on drinks and cake nothing else . It was amazing !!! Cake was really moist and melts in your mouth. Had the mint baby cake and it was sooooooooooooooooooo delicious , frosting was light ( so not overly sweeten or artificial tasting at all ) Drinks were really well balanced , key lime pie was on the sour side and so good , also had the papajillo tequila express o martini , really well balanced not too sweet .”

“Always Top Notch desserts at Papa H on Milwaukie The weather warmed up nicely in early April 2026 and Papa Haydn's outdoor patio was the perfect place to be on a day like today. Great venue if just slightly cramped. Service was great as usual ---friendly and efficient! Dessert was awesome as usual. The cappuccino was excellent. The raspberry galette was perfect---a great blend of dark chocolate and flavorful and fresh raspberries---👍👍👍 The mint minicake was a bit too sweet for my like but well constructed none the less. Handicap doable---be aware of the limited , tight space in certain areas Final take--Highly recommended---you can absolutely taste and experience the reason that Papa H has been around for so long.”

“I've visited this Papa Haydn location several times now with some visits being for lunch/dinner, but most recently I went with family just for dessert since their selection is easily one of the very best in Portland! My two personal favorites are the Passion (which has such a unique and wonderful blend of indulgent flavors) and the Raspberry Gateau, but honestly it's hard to go wrong here. The manager dropped by to check how our desserts were tasting and was very friendly and down to earth. On previous trips here, I also remember enjoying the pork loin and croque monsieur sandwich which tasted even better dipped in some French Onion soup. The entrees were good, but the desserts were definitely the star of the show for me. Their service is also consistently great, though if you're planning to come at peak dinner time I'd recommend making a reservation to avoid a wait.”

“Whether you want to eat a sweet here or take it to go you can’t go wrong. I have enjoyed their desserts and tea selection and is great. Recently took a slice of this German chocolate cake and it was so good. Selection is smaller than their NW 23rd location.”

“Food was good, but the dessert is where Papa Hayden shines. Another "Portland staple" for dessert and a must visit for a sweet treat. Fun experience in Sellwood that feels more like a family run business. If Sellwood is your local haunt I would definitely give them a try. I'll definitely be back for dessert. Overall food 7.2/10, dessert 8.7/10”
