Everything that comes out of the kitchen at Iyasare has its roots elsewhere. Most of Chef Sho's cuisine is inspired by the flavors, textures, and cooking techniques of Japan's Tohoku region, where he grew up sharing rustic foods with his large extended family and cooking beside his mother in the family's ramen shop. At Iyasare we believe that enjoying and sharing food can be comforting, and even healing. We aspire to be a warm and welcoming restaurant with an emphasis on friendly service, great wines and sake, and crazy good Japanese food.
“Oh my god! This is one of the best Japanese restaurants I’ve ever tried. Everything was absolutely delicious and when they told us about their best seller shrimp tempura they were not lying. Me and my bestie loved it. The food, atmosphere and service were literally perfection. We will definitely be coming back.”
“This was a really fun place on a great commercial corridor. There are inside an outdoor table and the ambience is terrific. Service was attentive and food came out promptly. The food was delicious and the menu was quite varied and unique. I also really enjoyed the nonalcoholic Mojito. So delicious. The sushi was quite fresh. We also had salmon that was quite delicious and the appetizers were really nice too. Overall, a very positive experience. It was not deep but once in a while, it’s worth it.”
“This restaurant is recommended by Michelin in 225. The food is good and creative. The tempura crispy chips tartare is very unique. Business is booming. Reservation is highly recommended.”
“This place is winning. Creative and traditional, quality dishes. Excellent service. We are quite the foodies with a lot of experience in Japanese cuisine, both here in the Bay Area and in Japan. We will return to Iyasare again and again! Their miso soup was a delicious start. We had the Hana roll, which was not only tasty and complex but beautifully served, literally like a flower (with crispy onion over the top). The gindara (black cod) was perfectly cooked, elevating its delicate flavor of the fish while hitting you with an umami punch. The bacon wrapped mochi was a total winner. Unique, crispy, chewy, hot, salty yum!! But the service was what made it all worth it. Each server was top notch in their customer service. Friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and respectful. Winning! Cocktails and whiskey options also were winning. It’s about as good as it gets!”
“I had dinner here for the first time and it was great! I ordered a few items, but I cannot add some pictures to the app for some reason. My favorite dishes were the Kakiage Tempura with Black Tiger Shrimp and Gindara. The other dishes I ordered were the Branzino and Wagyu Curry Rice and those feel flat for me. They definitely have a big menu and service was great. The atmosphere was quiet, calming, and inviting. I would HIGHLY recommend the dishes listed, especially the Gindara!”
