“We made a reservation but arrived early and had a drink at the bar. Prompt service and a nice drink selection made that enjoyable. When our time came we were directed to our table. Vanessa greeted us and our steaks were cooked perfectly and full flavored. The dining area and the bar have an appealing upscale look and seemed clean. Being able to see directly into the kitchen was interesting too. Recommend.”

“We had a most delightful dining experience at J Alexander’s in Tampa! Made a reservation for two at 5:30 on a Thursday evening and were seated on time. My birthday was acknowledged by the hostess, which was lovely, and then we met Randy who would serve us for the evening. He was in a word… Amazing. Very attentive, friendly. He really made the evening so relaxing and comfortable for us. My husband ordered prime rib, rare, and it was cooked perfectly. I ordered filet mignon also cooked perfectly for me at medium. The deviled egg starter was delicious - wrapped up the meal with the incredible warm carrot cake… Randy said people just come to get the carrot cake and I totally understand why… Though I would come back for a great steak as well! Plenty of on-site parking.”

“Our server Alexander / AJ ? ( receipt said AJ ) was awesome. Very attentive server. Good was good. Ordered a bottle of Tattinger champagne for the table and was great. Ordered the grilled artichoke which was flavorful. Lot of food waste but that is the artichoke by design. Deviled eggs were good but need just a hint more flavor. Very nice contrast of cold eggs with the warm bacon on top. The doppelgänger drink was a nice one and hides the flavor of the bourbon so it definitely sneaks up on you. We orders the prime rib which was flavorful and tender , not a stringy prime rib. Also orders the steak frites (steak and fries ) steak was tender and flavorful , not quite Berns steakhouse level but for a chain restaurant here it was good. Only critique is maybe having a peppercorn sauce with it like with some steak frites dishes.”

“Very impressed with this restaurant. The staff was very friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. The Hong Kong Shrimp was crispy and flavorful. And my favorite fries, shoe string, was crispy. My only ding would be that fries weren't seasoned, no salt or seasoning on them. Don't know if it was an oversight, but still good nonetheless. The Macaroni was okay, I felt it was missing something. My Husband didn't care for the type of cheese used, but I still found it palatable. I will return to try other menu items.”
