“Tired of breakfast cart food at ICNA?!? Try this place! If you’re looking for a halal brunch spot that actually delivers, this is it. The food was fresh and flavorful! You can tell they take the menu seriously, and it shows in every single bite. Cafe Fili is absolutely worth it. Go…you can thank me later! Also, we verified that the meat is halal with Turkish owner and saw the zabihah halal boxes. Just a heads up though, they do serve alcohol.”
“We had such a wonderful lunch here on a beautiful Thursday afternoon in DC. We were seated right away on the outdoor patio and greeted almost immediately by a warm, friendly server. We started with fresh lemonade, an oat milk latte, and espresso, then shared the lemon pepper fries as an appetizer — absolutely delicious. For lunch, we ordered two fattoush salads (one with falafel and one with chicken), the chicken Pomodoro sandwich, and the spiced chicken entrée. Every single thing was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. The fattoush salad was honestly so good I could eat it every day for the rest of my life and be perfectly happy. This is the kind of café you wish you had in your hometown — relaxed, fresh, welcoming, and consistently delicious. When we’re back in the DC area, we cannot wait to return. Highly, highly recommended. Loved it.”
“What a hidden gem. Cafe Fili was absolutely delicious from start to finish. We ate our hummus trio too fast to get a photo, it was a great starter. I had a chicken shawarma bowl that was the best. The rest of my group had the lamb, and chicken and all said they were happy too. The dessert teas and treats were also a hit. I had a lemongrass and ginger tea that was a great ending. My husband had a creme brulee with a chocolate shell that he said was amazing. The next time you are in the area, you have to try a meal here.”
“We went a week ago, my kids are still talking about it. 😀 The trio of hummus is so much fun. The pita is solid, but the crispy spiced pita marries so perfectly with the hummus... it's a cant miss. The yellow lentil soup is warm and creamy. It feels familiar and exotic at the same time. I really enjoyed the kabob plate. It is worth every penny. The serving size is incredible. I only wish there were more peppers on the plate. On the rice bowl, each sauce is great. The yellow rice is to die for. But what's really special is when you have some of everything in a bite. The balance of spices, textures, mixtures of flavors are nothing short of incredible. AND THE WHISKEY/BOURBON FLIGHTS- how fun. I loved the not from Kentucky flight. Generous pours of bottles too expensive to just try. Well done!”
“We recently visited Café Philly, drawn by their healthier menu options and wide selection of Mediterranean dishes. The ambience is absolutely charming — a very cute, cozy café that makes you want to sit and relax for a while. It’s also great to see that everything is halal, which is definitely a big plus. The menu offers plenty of variety, and what really stood out was how accommodating the staff were. We asked to replace basmati rice with couscous, and they happily made the adjustment without any hassle, which we really appreciated. That said, the food itself was fairly average in terms of taste. While everything was decent, it didn’t particularly stand out flavor-wise. Overall, it was still a good experience thanks to the welcoming atmosphere, flexibility, and friendly service.”
