“I love Nina May. I’ve never had a bad dish here! This was my third visit, for restaurant week this time. $55 for a wonderful set of dishes that you felt full after. Cocktails are also fantastic. Everything they do is fresh and flavorful. All very creative as well. And even though they’re $16, don’t skip on the bread rolls! They are one of the best items on the menu. There’s patio seating, as well as upstairs and downstairs indoor seating.”

“We went to Nina May and did their Chef’s Choice experience where they bring out an assortment of dishes for $59 per person and honestly it was such a cute experience. The chef basically curates everything for you from the menu so you can just relax and try different things without overthinking what to order. We ended up getting the Parker House rolls, asparagus, salad, the mushroom pasta, roasted chicken, and cake for dessert and overall everything was really good. The portions were actually solid too and the pacing of the courses felt nice at first. One dish did come out cold, but they handled it immediately and brought out a fresh one with no issue at all which I appreciated. The ambience is probably one of my favorite parts. The restaurant is super cute, intimate, cozy, and gives that perfect lowkey date night vibe without feeling too overly fancy or pretentious. I’m honestly surprised I hadn’t seen more people talk about this spot before because it’s definitely a hidden gem in DC. One thing I would recommend though is going earlier than we did. We got there around 8:15 and they close around 9:30, so toward the end it started feeling a little rushed with staff beginning closing procedures while we were still finishing courses. Since it’s meant to be more of an experience style dinner, I’d probably go around 6:30 or 7 next time so you can fully enjoy everything without watching the clock. Overall though I’d definitely come back. The concept is fun, the atmosphere is really cute, and it’s a great spot if you want a more intimate dinner where you can try a little bit of everything.”

“We had the tasting menu which was very fairly priced especially if you come very hungry, and the food tasted very hearty and healthy. However, many dishes on the current seasonal menu seem to fall short of being fantastic. The rolls were incredible but the Philadelphia chicken dry and tough to chew.”
