“Stopped by to pick up a pie…and had a very difficult time deciding because everything looked so good! There was a French apple tart, a pear bourdaloue, a tropical mango cake, and so much more! Ultimately, we decided on the pecan pie. It was absolutely delicious! A perfectly flaky crust and good layering of the custard and pecans. Definitely will be back for more desserts. Good service too. 😁”

“The Praline’s restaurant is upstairs from the bakery on the first floor. Indoor dining is relatively small and can get crowded and the tables close to one another. The outdoor patio when the weather is nice is outstanding. Food is uniformly delicious and well prepared. The menu is somewhat limited, but that’s a good thing. The staff are friendly, but could be a little more attentive. It’s a great place for a nice lunch.”

The menu is distinctly French, featuring traditional dishes such as French Onion Soup, Escargots, Steak Frites, Poulet Grand-Mère, Salmon Paillard, and savory buckwheat crêpes, all carefully prepared and elegantly plated. Even the desserts—like Crème Brûlée and Tarte Tatin—stay true to their French roots. While there are a few contemporary additions like the Praline Burger, everything is crafted with a French culinary approach that keeps the menu cohesive. In addition to the cozy indoor dining area, the second floor features an open-air terrace with tables and umbrellas—perfect for enjoying fresh air in a more relaxed setting. Personally, I would suggest adding a few plants for increased privacy between tables, but overall, the space is lovely and well thought out. One of the key advantages of this location is the free parking available on-site, a major plus in the Bethesda area. Whether you're planning a full meal or just stopping by to pick up pastries, it makes the visit even more convenient. In short, discovering Praline Bakery & Bistro was a delightful and memorable experience. What looks like a simple shop from the outside reveals a true culinary oasis inside, rich in flavor, tradition, and heart. Don’t hesitate to visit, especially if you’re craving a little taste of France right here in Maryland.”

“This is an excellent spot for brunch or lunch: a bustling, cheerful neighborhood bistro with fresh salads and light entrees-- good omelettes and quiches, for example. And the big bonus? Ample free parking, because you're in a neighborhood shopping mall. (All those blue-haired matrons at the tables around you know a good thing when they see it.)”

“I went for brunch and even though the service was good, the salmon salad was awful. No dressing and wilted lettuce. The salmon was bland too. The place is beautiful, I would just have pastries here. The food was not worth the price.”
