“Impeccable service and extraordinary food. After eating here, my wife and I felt that we had never actually eaten good food in our lives. In fact we would prefer not eating unless the food is on this level! BBQ carrots and cornbread ice cream were an unlikely and yet unbelievably good pairing. We dont work for this restaurant, but we will be telling everyone about it! Bravo! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾”

“We did the full tasting menu as recommended for our group of 5. The menus were personalized with a happy birthday message for our guest of honor. She is also got a signed card from the staff and a free icecream cookie. The service was perfect: personable but gave us space and well informed of the menu to answer questions. Food was excellent and unique. Even the men in the group, who are typically skeptical about fine dining serving sizes, agreed that the amount of food was satisfying. A very memorable birthday dinner! “For my husband and I, Rooster and Owl is one of our favorite restaurants in DC and it is one that has gained a special place in our hearts given the great food and friendliness of the staff! We love introducing R&O to family and friends so much that we decided to hold our wedding dinner at the restaurant! Carey Tang and her team were a joy to work with, encouraged us to customize the menu to reflect some of our favorite dishes, and made our wedding dinner so enjoyable and memorable for us and our guests! It was such a great decision and we highly recommend considering Rooster and Owl for a private event!”

“Wonderful experience. I did a solo dinner evening, and I am so glad I did. Service was fantastic. Just the right amount of interaction but also letting me enjoy my food in peace. I will be dreaming of the Carolina style BBQ carrots with the cornbread ice cream & micro cilantro. I could eat that dish everyday for the rest of my life. Only note I have to add is if you decide to sit at the bar - the seating is right at the entrance. So your back is to the check in area. Which given the space, makes complete sense. But I can see it getting maybe a little loud/distracting in the late evening if that’s something that would bother someone. Personally I loved the bar seating area! Cannot wait to see the next rotating menu!”

“Rooster & Owl was one of the best restaurants we tried in Washington, DC. Everything was outstanding — every dish was beautifully executed, the flavors were spot on, and the service was genuinely warm and attentive. The only small drawback was the pacing of the meal. At times, courses felt a bit rushed, with dishes being cleared quickly to make way for the next one. A little more space between courses would have elevated the experience even further, especially since we dined early and the restaurant wasn’t fully booked. That said, it was an exceptional experience overall, and absolutely a place I would recommend and happily return to.”
