Originally from the Heidelberg region of Germany Helga Schnakenberg has been a part of the Edelweiss family since 1969. Using only the best fresh ingredients, the menu she has created is an invitation to visit Germany and taste all it has to to offer. Helga, her husband Gary, and their son Dieter will welcome you and make you feel at home. The authentic menu with a variety of Old World German dishes includes Schnitzel, Bratwurst, and Sauerbraten, with newer-age items such as Flammekuchen and Maultaschen. For those not so adventurous palates Edelweiss offers other Continental fare such as Chicken Cordon Bleu, Filet Tournedos, or Fresh Salmon Filet. Imported German Beers and Wines can be ordered to compliment any of the flavorful dishes. The European-trained Swiss Pastry Chef bakes all of the desserts from scratch, so save room for one of the rich Tortes or pastries, or take some to go.
“If I could only recommend one restaurant in this region, it would be this one. I looked forward to eating here all the way up from New Orleans. We tried take out to eat at the hotel room when we arrived and it was delicious. Didn't trigger any of my food sensitivities. So then we picked up a picnic meal for pick up and ate out over at the cliff dwellings, again amazing and we paired it with a nice German wine. Finally we made time to eat dinner and we made it into a memorable event. The staff were over the top helpful and ALL of the food was amazing. The most guilt free meal I've had in years. This is in my top five restaurants I've ever eaten at.”
“Such a cool and authentic restaurant! I ordered their jagerschnitzel with gluhwein and found it all very delicious. I also enjoyed the salad that they served slightly before the meal. There was also a musician that played the accordion and sang that kept the mood lively and seemed to keep guests pretty entertained. The service was wonderful and the waitress did a great job of recommending dishes and being attentive. Overall, worth a visit if you're in Colorado Springs!”
“Reservation for 4 on 2/9/2026 at 6:00 PM We came here to celebrate my birthday with my husband and his parents. They’re half German, which is why I chose this place. I wanted it to bring back beautiful memories of authentic German food. And it absolutely did. We loved it! Every dish we ordered truly hit our taste buds. They even said it tasted very authentic, which made the experience even more special. We ended the evening trying German beers and sharing five different cakes, each one was stunning and delicious. It was such a fun and memorable night. Our server (I wish I remembered her name!) was incredibly sweet. The service was fast, attentive, and thoughtful throughout the evening. We had such a comfortable and joyful experience, and we will definitely be coming back.”
“THANK YOU STEVE H. The atmosphere was phenomenal. I mentioned to my husband that for a moment I forgot we were in Colorado. This place was so amazing. The food was just amazing and filling. The drink menu was so impressive. Everything about this place was enchanting. My favorite part was that we got to buy the 1 liter boot beer. I am definitely coming again.”
“We as Europeans visited the place. Really nice atmosphere, German-style. The service is quick, the waitress is attentive. I ordered Hungarian goulash, which was not really a goulash, rather a traditional Hungarian stew, but prepared appropriately. The way the noodle was made is traditional but the taste and texture is different than supposed to be. I liked that the vegetables were not overcooked. All in all, it really worth a visit, nice experience, and good to have these tastes in the USA.”
