“I was in town for the night on a work trip. Made my way to exile from a friend’s recommendation and couldn’t be happier with the choice. I had initially come in for just a drink but there was a trivia night starting so I stayed, and I’m so glad I did. I had truly wonderful time. My server was amazing, so kind and quick, the food was DELICIOUS (I got the chicken bites with the creamy buffalo sauce on recommendation from my server) I ended up getting 3rd place in trivia and while I could not travel with parts of the prize, they GAVE ME A T-SHIRT instead! So kind. I couldn’t recommend this location more. Great vibe, great people, great food. If you’re in Des Moines, hit up Exile for a great night.”
“Nashville chicken sandwich was awesome! Beers were great! Final weekend for live in a snow globe. Amazing atmosphere and service.”
“The decor: stunning. The food: superb. The prices: incredibly reasonable. The staff: incredibly attentive and so friendly. My baby was mesmerized by the thousands of lights while the adults were chowing down. Between all of us, we ordered cheese curds, Philly cheesesteak, chicken spiedini, fish & chips, a butter beer, spiked eggnog and reindeer punch (all 3 contained alcohol.) Everything was hot and fresh, the drinks were tasty, and our server was so friendly. This was our second time ever going to the snow globe and we plan to make it an annual tradition. 10/10, highly recommend.”
“Just visiting area but how fortunate in our timing. Snow globe Christmas at this brewery was awesome. Every inch of this brewery has Christmas on it. It is very busy, reserve a table. We got there early with no reservation and they accommodated us to stay as long as we could until all the tables were reserved. Even then, we could stay, just needed to stand or go outside. Nathan was our server, chill guy, professional and very kind. He just added to our great time there.Didn't eat there but beers we had were great. You wont be disappointed visiting this brewery.”
“Took the family to the SnowGlobe event. For everyone that is not familiar with the SnowGlobe event, Exile completely decorates everything Christmas themed and it’s impressive. I had the Nashville fried chicken sandwich with herbed fries. The sandwich was a good sized piece of chicken that was moist and delicious. The fries were also very good. The girlfriend had the Crispy Chicken Salad, it was huge, looked amazing and delicious. I will definitely get it next time I go. The kids got the kids Mac and cheese with fries and we received no complaints from the kids about their food. They had a holiday drink menu with some ok choices for drinks. Last year’s drink choices were phenomenal compared to this year. Last year they had some sort of adult hot chocolate, we asked about it and they said they could try something. So they added a peppermint schnapps shot to a hot chocolate. It was ok. But the real kicker is they charged $8.99 for a shot of peppermint schnapps and $4.75 for a regular hot chocolate. Kind of seems a little pricey for nothing fancy. I understand the cost on other mixed drinks because there is skill in figuring out a good cocktail and making it, but to just dump a shot of schnapps into a hot chocolate and charging $13.74 seems kind of excessive. Overall atmosphere is off the charts, food is good and specialty drinks this year were ok.”
