“Not a huge fan of pork but I tried the Berkshire pork chop and was really happy I got it! Also the goat cheese roule was delicious and a great starter. Definitely recommend the sticky toffee pudding and got a free brownie since we had a birthday at the table!”
“Former New Yorker. Drove 11 hours to celebrate the 250th. Been eating here for years. Food and table service were wonderful, as usual. Very rude greeter, but that's not on the restaurant. That's on the individual.”
“History is literally palpable! After soaking in the weight of history … the pathetic and ambiance is intoxicating- the service was really, really good. The menus - the actual physical menus added depth and gravity to the history in the restaurant. The food was spectacular. The oysters were small but very flavorful. The cheese in the Mac and Cheese was very mild - which was perfect. The pot pie! What can I say?! It was THE BEST I ever recall having. Fabulous. This was all topped off by a walk through the museum. My would was fed along with my belly!!!”
“We love Fraunces Tavern and visiting is always a treat! The food is great, especially the dry rub chicken wings (the best I have ever had). Our server, Kara was phenomenal and attentive without being intrusive. The best part of Fraunces Tavern is definitely the atmosphere!! The restaurant has been beautifully maintained in a colonial style. There are multiple, cozy areas to eat as opposed to one big area. I highly recommend this restaurant to both native New Yorkers and visitors as well!”
“There are multiple rooms for different purposes so it’s nice to hop around before and after dinner. Downstairs feels more like an old timey pub whereas the piano room upstairs more a lounge with live music. It’s actually pretty easy to walk in on weekend evenings so reservations aren’t really necessary. The host acted somewhat nonchalant at first until she realized we had a reservation for the piano room, which we made ten minutes prior while seated at the downstairs bar because there were so many spaces available. The service upstairs was definitely more pleasant. The chicken pot pie was delicious and the cocktails were good. The menus are mostly shared across the rooms but some have minor pp minimums (eg $30) so if you’re planning to grab dessert anyway then I’d suggest grabbing it upstairs.”
