We make serious wines for silly people. Gamling & McDuck is a wildly ambitious Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc focused Winery Tasting Room in downtown Napa, CA. We produce approximately 2000 cases of wine annually (only available at the Tasting Room, through the Wine Club, and at a bunch of stellar local restaurants). We source from unique badass vineyards all over Napa and select vineyards within a 200 mile radius to make 10-15 different terrior expressions of our beloved varietals. Several years ago the SF Chronicle called us “A label that questions some of Napa’s more humdrum-classicist tendencies and delivers a thoughtful, punk-infused brand”. They totally called us punk, which as you well know is the most treasured adjective and utterly cannot be self applied. A couple years ago we were voted "Best Hidden Gem Winery" by our peers (a field of 450 Napa wineries!) So that makes you some kinda Indiana Jones if you find us. This year we were voted "2nd Best Downtown Napa Tasting Room" by our peers. Which means I get to make "2nd Place in a Beauty Contest" Monopoly T-shirts! Next year we're probably getting a Key to the City or something :) xo, G&M THE FINE PRINT: 1) No kiddos. We love kids, but this isn't the spot for them. Some of you are cheering- Some of you are like, "But, our kids are great..." Yes yes, they're wonderful and someday we'll have a pasture with a goat, an intern dressed like Pikachu, and a slip-n-slide, but as of today it's just wine and occasional swear words. Leave the kid with Meema, she'll teach them some weird old thing they'll cherish for the rest of their life. 2) No food. This is partly true. If you want to munch on snacks outside on the parklet, go for it. In fact www.jeffriesgeneral.com (the adorable shop next door) has a bunch of excellent cheese and chips, and a trout dip so delicious you'll be glad you don't have to share with your kid. BUT, NO FOOD INSIDE. To-go boxes of half-eaten hamburgers are stinnnnnky, and should be properly aged in your hot parked car.
“I cannot recommend Gambling & McDuck enough! We had the pleasure of meeting McDuck and doing tasting with him. His passion for wine along with his experience makes this stop unforgettable!!! I will 100% be coming back every time! He is so personable and has such great information to share. I HIGHLY recommend this winery! Also he does his own art on the wine bottles and it’s so unique and amazing. I will definitely be coming back!”
“Gamling McDuck is a super fun and welcoming tasting room right in downtown Napa. Scott was knowledgeable and very engaging with us and all the other customers. Several locals stopped in and he knew everyone. The wine is delicious and the pours were generous. Very tasty wines. I had the Chenin Blanc and it was full bodied and delicious. My sister went with the Rose and my husband a Red. Loved it!”

Gamling & McDuck isn’t just a wine bar; it’s an experience.”
“Love this place, Scott was so nice, relaxed and informative. Specializing in Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc, they really have exceptional wine that shows off how good these varieties can be. Tasted everything in their line up, their tasting menu is as follows: 5 wines for 35$ 8 wines for 50$ The 3 extra you get for the extra 15$ are the higher priced bottles. Don't let that fool you, while those are delicious, their main line up is also extremely good. There's a kitty, which unfortunately we didn't get to meet because she was home that day. Adam, the winemaker also stopped in during our visit and it was great to be able to talk to him about the wines. Its a very relaxed and a wonderful tasting experience. Ended up joining their wine club which is a great deal. I look forward to returning for my pickups and another tasting every 4 months.”
“Make sure you stop here when visiting Napa!! As a wine lover and a cat lover, it felt like this place was made for me! We booked a tasting with Adam and we just had the best time ever on our girls trip! He was knowledgeable about his wines and a great time to hang out with. He set us up on the patio with the air hockey table so we were able to have a little tournament going intermittently between tastings. Adam did the artwork on the bottles himself and told us about all the strays he's homed throughout his years and we loved all his stories, and then we got to meet the black cat he rescued who hangs out in the tasting room. Overall we had a really wonderful time and will DEFINITELY go back next time we are in town - we are savoring the bottles of rose we took home with us!”
