“The food was amazing. We arrived right before they closed but they were gracious enough to serve us and not give any sort of attitude or Rush the service. The sake tasted great and complimented the food well. It is conveniently located right by Wayne State University and I will definitely go back again.”
“Stopped into Ima while in Detroit for a work trip and really enjoyed it! It’s also a really great spot for solo dining if you’re exploring the city or traveling for work. I started with the pickled appetizer plate, which was a great light starter with lots of flavor, then ordered the spicy Tori chicken ramen. The broth had a really nice kick without being overwhelming, and the chicken was super tender. Definitely a cozy, satisfying stop after a long day. Would absolutely come back next time I’m in Detroit!”
“Food was fantastic! Great flavor. Easy paid parking. No wait to be seated. Food took a bit longer than expected but our waitress was on it! She over compensated our wait. We will absolutely return.”
“Great restaurant right across the street from Wayne State University. I ordered the Karage chicken rice bowl. It was delicious and unique with the pickled ginger, seaweed and scallions. Very fresh and delicious. The prices were reasonable and the aesthetics of the place were also nice.”
“I love this place so much. The food is always amazing and quickly brought out. You usually have to flag down your server but the quality of the food makes up for it. My favorite is the pho, but the other dishes are amazing as well. I would highly recommend coming for happy hour to get bao buns since you can't get them otherwise. Miso sesame cucumbers, edamame (best item there), chicken karaage bites, togarashi tofu, and the rice chicharrones are all amazing appetizers. Weekly rotating lemonade and mocktails are beautiful. Chicken and vegetarian broth are great! The braised pork is top tier.”
