All guest experiences take place by appointment at our Home Ranch in St. Helena, where curated tasting and culinary offerings overlook our surrounding vineyards. “Today I did a wine tasting at Phelps. Our guide for this journey was Michael Cawelti. I'm writing this review because he was so fabulous.
He was amazingly knowledgeable about everything - grapes, where and how they are grown, the farming methods and best places to grow for each varietal all over the world. He gave us tips on how to best smell the wine, how to optimize the consumption of paired food and wine and proved to us why the glass shape makes a difference, and much more. He was very interesting, personable, not at all pretentious and open to any and all questions.
I highly recommend a tasting with Michael. Phelps grounds are beautiful and their wines were super tasty as well.”

The host made the session so comfortable and relaxed, sharing the stories behind the wines while letting us truly savor each pour. But the real showstopper was the view—looking down at the sun-drenched vineyards from the hilltop was incredibly peaceful and beautiful. It was the perfect way to wrap up the day. Highly recommend!”

“We've visited about a dozen vineyards in the Napa Valley / Sonoma region and I have to say that this winery is the nicest vineyard I've been to. The inside is beautiful and the views from the patio are stunning. Then of course you have amazing wine to taste! I only wish I had more time to spend here, next time we'll plan for a longer visit. Couldn't recommend this vineyard highly enough, it's a special place!”
