“We loved eating at Kain Tayo, from its off-the-beaten-path location, chill ambiance, and friendly service. I’m not entirely sure what other reviewers are referring to about the flavours being too diverse or dishes lacking cohesivity. This is an Asian fusion restaurant, you should expect unique combinations with bold tasting notes, and that’s exactly what this place delivers. We loved the bao of the day, Sukiyaki fries, and ramen noodle salad. Nice authentic Japanese beers on tap as well. Highly recommend for something a little different in Canmore!”

“We were so excited to finally try Kain Tayo after missing out last December when they were closed during our visit to Canmore ( Christmas ) — and it was absolutely worth the wait! As Filipinos, we were pleasantly surprised by how creative and unique the dishes were while still keeping those familiar Filipino flavors we love. We ordered the Sisig (Ahi), Lechon Kawali, Crispy Calamares (Sinigang), and the Adobo Pork Bao Bun. Every dish had its own twist, and honestly, everything was sooo good. The standout for us was definitely the Adobo Pork Bao Bun — incredibly flavorful and something we’re still thinking about! To end the meal, we had the Turon Ice Cream for dessert, which was the perfect sweet finish. Overall, such a fun and delicious experience. We’ll definitely be coming back, and next time we’re bringing our parents so they can try everything too! Highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in Canmore.”

“We have an excellent dinner at Kain Tayo this evening with some very tasty dishes. Most of the yummy dishes we got are recommended by Randi - our wonderful waitress. She goes above and beyond to make sure that we have an enjoyable experience. The dining room is very comfortable. The restaurant also has a very good outdoor seating area.”

“We had an amazing experience here—never disappoints! The okonomiyaki-style onion rings were superb and packed with flavor. We also ordered the sizzling ahi tuna sisig paired with rice, which was absolutely spot on, and the juicy burger with sukiyaki fries that hit all the right notes. This has definitely become one of our favorite go-to spots. The service was very friendly, and you can really see the chef’s passion in every dish. Highly recommended!”
