Los Milics Vineyards - Tucson

“I very rarely write reviews for restaurants. I think this may be only the second time. But Los Milics Vineyards was such a pleasant surprise that I feel compelled to step outside my comfort zone and express myself publically. My wife and were staying at a nearby hotel and we stumbled into Los Milics while looking for a nice place to have dinner. The wine and beer were very good. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about wine, beer, and food, and we found our experience to be quite educational (probably wasted on me, but still enjoyable). They offer tasting flights and they were kind enough to let my wife have a flight of only red wine. So far so good. Up until the food arrived, the whole experience was quite nice. But the food was unexpectedly good. We had the house-made foccacia, the polenta tots, the seasonal tender greens and the chicken romesco. Everything was just fantastic! We couldn't decide which dish we liked best. We live in Los Angeles and I guess we weren't expecting to have such a fine dining experience in Tucson. That was our mistake, and we've never been so happy to be wrong.”

“This was a nice new discovery on Congress in downtown Tucson! It’s the winery from Elgin, running an urban chic restaurant and bar! We only had drinks, and liked the wine albeit at $19 a glass. The beer only came in cans -no draft. People were raving about the burgers and the steak, but all the food we saw looked great! Our server, TrinaG, was very nice and efficient! Hope to be back soon for the food. Loved the vibe! VictorB”

“Pleasantly surprised to find food this high quality in Tucson. Also the wine is very good. We basically ate everything and drank everything on the menu and I will go do that again. Recommended for anyone who likes elevated food, whether you like wine or not.”

“Wonderful atmosphere. The food was so delicious! The Chiketta Sandwich, pickled vegetables and the burrata are my absolute favorite! The service was superb. Looking forward to trying other menu items as well as their large selection of wine.”

“Made a reservation for a wine tasting on my birthday. It was mid-day on a Monday and the place was practically empty but we decided to go with it anyway. We ordered the focaccia and the pickled veggies, both were really delicious. The wine tasting experience was a little strange, we did not get new glasses for each pour, which is fine, but they also did not rinse the glass with the new wine and instead just poured the new wine directly into the glass that still had bits of the previous wine sitting at the bottom of the glass. We really enjoyed the 3 pours that we had and were having a great time, with my husband wanting to buy some bottles to take home. We put in an order for more food and our 4th tasting glass was poured. Upon picking up my glass, I saw something floating in the wine. Thinking that it might be a piece of grape, I fished out the object with my fork only to discover a full, intact beetle (hence the low stars for food, even though the food we had was really delicious). We quietly notified the staff and they were super apologetic and they comped our plates and wine. Overall, they were really nice about the whole thing, but it definitely put a damper on my day. I’m hoping this is just a one-off occurrence, but I have lost the desire to return or to recommend this place to friends and family.”
