“The decor was amazing. The service was great. The tea was delicious. I highly recommend this to everyone. Take a friend or a date.”
“Have to say as a Brit who stays in the area a lot, I discovered this cute place whilst craving a relaxed cup of tea and was totally impressed 👍 tea and scones tasted exactly like being back home:) The clotted cream came really close ! A great warm inclusive place for anyone to enjoy which is what I love about it too 😍”
“I was invited to a bridal tea party at Mckenna's this past weekend. What a delightful place to have tea and finger foods! The atmosphere was peaceful and the food was absolutely amazing. Probably the best peach mango tea I've ever had. I got hot tea on a warm day but it didn't stop me from enjoying the yummy scones with my own pot of tea. They offer a variety of tea, coffee and herbal tea. Our group went with The Royal. It's a 3 course meal of salad, soup followed by the most beautiful 3 tier arrangement of scones and an assortment of delicious desserts. I ate a lot but didn't feel heavy. We sat outdoors with a table but you can also request a sofa. Karen checked us all in and she was most helpful going over the menu. They can accommodate large parties as well as intimate party for 2. Mckenna's tea cottage is very quaint and serene. The antiques decorate the indoors as you walk in when opens up to another room and then the outdoor patio. I highly recommend coming here for a bridal party or female birthday party. You'll enjoy the views all around.”
“This is our go to tea place. My daughters and I go at least once every year. The selection of teas is extensive, with seasonal additions. The service is attentive and friendly, the atmosphere relaxed. Dining out on the patio is so pleasant. We have tried most of the food items; we love the quiches, soup, and scones the most! Good selection of tea sandwiches and mini desserts, if you choose.”
“[WAITED 45 MINUTES AFTER OUR RESERVATION TIME BEFORE DECIDING TO LEAVE] As a returning customer, I was extremely disappointed by my experience yesterday. We arrived before our 12:30 reservation, but the doors were still closed until approximately 12:40 p.m., the restaurant scheduled to open at 12:00 p.m. but it appeared that staff were focused on a private event instead. Despite having a reservation, we were not seated until 1:00 p.m. Upon sitting down there were only 5 tables filled and another 4 empty. So we waited another 15 minutes still without receiving any service. By this point it had been 45 minutes past our reservation time and one came to service us. So by 1:15 p.m., that’s when we decided to leave. What disappointed me most was the response from the staff when we explained why we were leaving. As I began to explain I was repeatedly interrupted with "sorry." There was no explanation, no acknowledgment of the issue, and no attempt to make things right. As if she was just saying that just to say it. I've enjoyed tea service here in the past, but this experience was unacceptable and unfortunately enough to make me not want to return. When customers are paying around $60+ per person for tea service, they should be able to expect basic customer service and reasonable wait times. After reading other recent reviews, it appears that long wait times and service delays have become a reoccurring concern for other guests as well. I hope the new management takes these concerns seriously and makes the necessary improvements.”
