Millbrook, NY · $$
Millbrook Vineyard & Winery is nestled in the Taconic foothills of New York's Hudson Valley, where the region's distinctive microclimate and glacially influenced soils create ideal conditions for growing world-class wine grapes. Founded in 1982 by John Dyson, Millbrook has become one of the most respected wineries in the Northeast, producing elegant and expressive wines that reflect the unique terroir of Dutchess County. The winery is best known for its estate grown Tocai Friulano, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Franc, with the vines benefiting from the Taconic's gentle slopes, excellent drainage, and the moderating influence of nearby rivers that extend the growing season. Millbrook's commitment to sustainable farming and minimal intervention winemaking allows the character of the land to shine through in every bottle, earning the winery consistent praise from critics and a loyal following among wine lovers across the region and beyond. Whether you're sipping our flagship Proprietor's Special Reserve or exploring one of our limited single-vineyard offerings, Millbrook stands as a compelling testament to what the Hudson Valley is capable of producing.
“This place was not only a pleasant surprise but also incredibly nice. The views are stunning, the staff are superb (thanks Justine) and the wines were very good. Being a bit of a wine snob I was very pleased with the quality and winemaker skills. They also own some Vineyards in Italy so there are much more than simply local varietals. You will not be dissapointed here.”
“Absolutely love this winery! If you're looking for incredible wine paired with breathtaking views, this place is a must. I drove 1.5 hours to get here and it was totally worth it. The atmosphere is peaceful, the staff is welcoming, and every sip feels like a celebration of fall. I’ll definitely be coming back again. Don’t miss it!”
“We came for a wine tasting experience and had the best time. The wines are very good, and the place is just so beautiful, we went upstairs to the loft to enjoy some more wines, got ourselves some cheese and crackers from the bar, and had a wonderful time admiring the view of the vineyards and the Hudson valley. They even have EV chargers in the back! We’ll definitely be back!”
“Millbrook Vineyards & Winery is a true hidden gem in Upstate New York. From the scenic drive in to the peaceful, rolling vineyards, everything about this place feels like a perfect escape. The wine is excellent—standouts like the Tocai Friulano and Pinot Noir really show off what the Hudson Valley has to offer. The tasting experience is relaxed and enjoyable, with knowledgeable staff who make everyone feel welcome, whether you’re a wine enthusiast or just curious. It’s also a fantastic spot to spend a full day with family and friends. You can bring a picnic, grab a bottle or two, and hang out on the terrace or in the grassy open spaces overlooking the vines. The setting is peaceful, the views are stunning, and the vibe is just right for both relaxing and celebrating. One of the best vineyard experiences in the region—can’t wait to return!”
“We came to just hang out as we don’t drink. It is free to enter and they have different types of food trucks on the weekends serving food from lunch to dinner. There were many people who brought their own chairs and picnic blankets hanging out on the grass area by the pond. We set up a blanket right in front of the pond and chilled. There was only one bbq food truck on the weekend we visited. It would have been a better experience if the family next to us wasn’t so loud. But overall we had a relaxing time. They have free wifi, which was nice! They also have electric car chargers stations.”
