“Delicious food, great place to try new things. Service was good, the people were nice. It did take a while for the items to come out but I do think great food takes time.”

“This is for the foodies :) Our dinner was absolutely delightful! We shared a handful of dishes : The Cod - delicate, sweet, cooked to perfection Chef’s sashimi platter - absolutely gorgeous ( oh gosh! The scallops, otoro, and the salmon - divine! ) Hāmākua mushrooms - hella good Blistered shishito peppers - of course! Wagyu Filet - Rare - Chefs kiss Ishi yaki buri bop - yummmyy!! Mussels on special - so good! Rock n Spicy tuna - that’s literally a 2 in 1 deal & #sakeflights & forced ourselves to get dessert for the hell of it! The desserts are perfect - not too sweet, but just right! The sunset / ocean / luau view was gorgeous. You do have to walk down “a handful of stairs” - but it’s worth it!”

“Morimoto is a must-visit, especially when staying at the Andaz or nearby. Since we weren't looking for a heavy dinner, we were delighted to discover their excellent, more casual lunch option: the Pre-Set Wagyu Tasting Menu for $115 per person. This was an ideal choice for a high-scale lunch, steps from the beach, following our outrigger experience. We particularly enjoyed it because of the bar area, with high-top tables that offer fantastic ocean views, over poolside seating, or the indoor seating. The tasting menu was superb. It featured Wagyu Beef Carpaccio presented as nigiri, alongside the cucumber Maki (a filler, not much more), and then the main courses. We preferred the Wagyu Filet over the Bop, though the Bop is reportedly more popular. We simply prefer our wagyu less "dressed." We loved it so much we returned the next day for lunch, focusing on their spectacular fresh sushi options, including various types of Toro, Uni, Mackerel, Red Snapper (fantastic), and yellowtail. Everything was excellent. A special thanks to the barman, Anthony, who was incredibly accommodating and nice.”

“The food at Morimoto is delicious. The Wagyu was melt in your mouth perfection, and the King Salmon sashimi was incredibly fresh and delicious. To top it off, the strawberry sorbet is a must have. However, be prepared for a very high noise level; it was quite loud, making it difficult to hear our server or even carry on a conversation at our own table. Also, keep in mind that parking is strictly valet, so definitely bring cash for tips. Note: Dress smart-casual.”

“3/5 because of service Party of 4- 2 kids seated outside without a reservation very minimal wait. Great! Took a minute to get greeted by the waiter but once we got his attention he was a breeze to talk to and gave his recommendations. We thought we ordered a lot but ended up finishing our entrees. We got: 2 cocktails Miso soup Clam miso soup Ramen special Surf and turf Sea bass Kids Wagyu with fries (needed a better sear) Other servers gave us our meals and we had no utensils aside from the chopsticks already on the table. Can’t really eat a surf and turf or a wagyu with chopsticks. I couldn’t get eye contact with our waiter as he was pretty much just taking orders from every other table outside. The surf and turf was getting cold so I asked a gentlemen who refilled out water for some utensils and he said of course but then I never saw him again. Then I flagged a different tables waitress and she looked a little bothered but gave ME the fork and knife when my husband was the one with the surf and turf. By then I just told my son to eat his Wagyu with his hands for now until I can get another fork. Never happened. We ate all of our food without a single person ever coming back. By the time we were done someone finally refilled my water- and I asked her for a box and our check if possible. This is when our original server finally came back to “check on us”. We would have ordered more cocktails and even dessert. But I was already over it looking around for someone to help us. For such a high end hotel- which we were staying at by the way- and such a nice restaurant I expected way more for service. As for food- all great we cleaned our plates aside from my kids rice and wagyu but the service still left a sour taste in my mouth.”
