“Spectacular. The view -absolutely, the place etched into a cliff-incredible, views from inside the restaurant - special, but most of all the food. Scallop Ceviche is not typical, but this version makes me wish it was always available. The Great Lakes Walleye is a great fish and was perfectly prepared with great components. The Bouillabaisse was the best in a couple decades. And the personal sized Pineapple Upside-down Cake hit the mark and the coconut sorbet was perfect.”
“We came here last night to celebrate my partner’s birthday and had a great experience from start to finish. The service was very attentive, and they even surprised him with a complimentary red velvet brownie cake, which was such a nice touch. The food was overall really good. The bourbon bread pudding was absolutely amazing definitely a must-try. The crab cake was solid, and the overnight braised short rib was good as well, just slightly salty for my taste, but still enjoyable. My partner loved his steak—it was cooked perfectly. The scallop ceviche tasted very fresh and was a nice change from the usual shrimp ceviche. The atmosphere made the night even better the view of the water was beautiful and really set the tone for a special evening. The bourbon selections and cocktails were also very good. Overall, we had a great time and my partner truly enjoyed his birthday. We’ll definitely be back soon, especially for the cocktails and desserts.”
“Too tier food, service and view. The staff is amazing. They have vegan and vegetarian options that are teuwlt gourmet ans worth going just for the mushroom ravioli. Every loved their food: scallops, fresh oysters, crab cakes, tuna, fried walleye, beef, even the desserts were outstanding. This is the perfect place for special occasions. Great wine selection and full bar. Make a reservation.”
“After years of going to restaurants from Gordan Ramsay steak house in Vegas to Chops in Cleveland. I think I expected more from Pier W. Not to much in options for the little more food challenged. My steak was a little under what my liking is and it was to be butterflied and it was not. But then again you go for the view maybe not the food.”
“Chaos is what comes to mind. The buffet for their brunch was so congested. It was hard to walk through there without bumping into other people. The buffet was in their bar area. There was a carving station in there with only medium beef, I asked for a piece of rare beef and they did not even have that?? I don’t understand how you charge people $72 for a brunch buffet that doesn’t have rare beef or crab legs even not even lobster at all, there was overcooked salmon, at least three different salmon dishes the only thing that I found that even filled me up was there’s a type of braised beef with Redskin potatoes. The Manager I believe he was the manager did come to our table to offer us some rare beef, took a long time to get. Well over 40 minutes, it was medium and raw . There’s a picture that I posted of what it looked like when he said that he gave us rare beef. There’s a difference between rare beef and Pittsburgh rare . I remember going there maybe 20+ years ago and it was elegant with ice sculptures. I felt claustrophobic there. we went there for my dad‘s 80th birthday and we were separated by two tables it really wasn’t very personable . I expected the food to be better. the only person that I believe gets a gold star from all of this was Cora our server she was very diligent and she was friendly. You ordered the eggs/omelette/French toast/waffles from her… I think that all of those things should’ve been brought to the table anyways, even if nobody ordered them so they can have a taste .. The food was mediocre at best to me. I was disappointed. I believe some places are hit or miss but this was a miss for me. No crab, no lobster, no clams Casino. They had oysters on the half shell. The ambience was plain It was a miss for me…. We didn’t even have salt or pepper. We had to ask for it. I asked for a carafe of coffee to be brought the table because we were pretty much all coffee drinkers and it’s like they forgot about it… The views outside were lovely. it was a beautiful day.”
