“Was in Boston for a conference and wanted a place with good food and shareable plates. The biscuits were incredible. I had the bbq shrimp and grits and that was pretty good. I ordered the mocktail Lavender Porch Lemonade — that was a disappointment. It looked beautiful but tasted weird. It was my first time having butterfly tea, so maybe I don’t like butterfly tea.”
“Such an amazing place and the food is so perfectly curated. Clam Chowder and Charred Octopus blew my mind. So much flavor. Ricardo the bar tender was putting together some of the best concoctions and super friendly. Love IT”
“After two times of getting denied for not getting a table, I finally got to visit Buttermilk and Bourbon in Back Bay and I must say it truely did not disappoint. Everything we tried out here was so good and had southern influence blended perfectly well. We got a bunch of different dishes to try out that the waitress recommended us . The buttermilk fried chicken with Nashville hot and spicy bbq syrup was definately the star of the show as the chicken was so moist and perfectly seasoned. The louisana crawfish aranchini and pan seared red fish were also my favourite tapas to try out followed by the charred octopus. They have a decent collection of drinks too although on a slightly expensive side, but thats pretty much standard you will get around back bay. Overall I had a great experience getting dinner here with friends and would definitely come here again!!”
“First I loved the inside design of the restaurant, has such a nice art around kind of gothic. We went for kinda brunch, it was a week day and they don’t have the full brunch menu, but still has some breakfast items. We had the waygu sliders, they were good, nothing crazy but good still. Best part, the fried chicken thighs with waffles and the spicy maple syrup, they were Amazing. Also worth to try the glaze biscuits. There was this breakfast eggs potato tarts with sausage, that was pretty good love the cheese sauces and tomato relish they have. We did not order drinks but the menu looks gray. Nice and friendly staff, they were very kind with my little daughter. Definitely we will come back.”
“Buttermilk & Bourbon on Commonwealth Ave is a spot I’ve walked by several times. It’s a bit easy to miss, tucked into a more residential stretch rather than among the busier restaurant rows on Newbury or Boylston. The tapas-style menu makes it great for sharing and trying a variety of dishes. I usually go for wings, though these leaned a bit too peppery for my taste. The ruby beet salad was not what I expected…more creamy than anticipated…but still enjoyable. The signature honey-glazed biscuits are a must-order… easily the standout. Our party of three shared six dishes and left satisfied. We skipped drinks this time, but I’d definitely come back to try one of their cocktails.”
