“The food here was amazing. I loved the Peking duck, the minced beef soup, the cod, and honestly everything we ordered. The standout dish was definitely the crab noodles. You absolutely have to order them. We sat on the patio, which I highly recommend. The view was beautiful, and it was the perfect balance of sunshine and shade. The service was also very fast, and everything came out quickly. Great food, great atmosphere, and a great dining experience overall. Highly recommend!”
“The most hiddem gem in the entire bay area. It is the most intimate and quiet place in all of east oakland hands down. The food is absolutely astonishing. I decided to spoil myself and had lobster ravioli with clams mussels and perfectly cooked scallops. (Mind you i can not stand scallops at all if they arent perfect) The most amazing place to relax watch sunset and dine, even alone. Quality kitchen not enough recognition, because, Its so quaint.”
“I made a dinner reservation here on a weekend to celebrate my mother’s birthday. Neither of us have ever been here, but it was recommended by a close one of mine and I heard a lot of great things about this place. Upon arrival, it was a busy night, was greeted by one of their host on the first floor where she directed us to the dining area. Luckily we made a reservation since it was a full house with people waiting outside and the benefit of the reservation was that our group was seated almost immediately. This place offers fine Cantonese dishes that uses premium and careful picked out ingredients and a handful of house made drinks. Their menu is simple that include a lot of delicious options such as Peking duck, salt and pepper crab which is a must, dim sum that is served all day, special double boiled soup in a claypot, baked black cod and much more to choose from. Also everything is made to order which is always a plus for me since it is quality over quantity. We ordered a bunch of dishes and I recommend the same since most of their portion size are quite small. The staffs here are very welcoming, well trained, understanding and polite where it made our experience a satisfying and issue free one. If you parked at the garage across the street, they can validate your parking ticket that can subtract up to three hours which is a pretty sweet deal. The crowd here is very diverse and any age group is welcomed here. They have a elevator for anyone who uses a wheelchair, walker or have limited mobility, but the max person in the elevator is limited to two. The interior of the restaurant is very authentic, with paintings, furniture, statues that are most likely imported from China. The prices here are not crazy and more on the reasonable side. I have to say this place is well known in San Francisco that is at a great location and they are Michelin recommended plus the time I spent here people were arriving non-stop to fill tables as ones were leaving. Overall I am happy that I got to try this place out with the ones that matter the most to me. I highly recommend this place to all Chinese food enthusiasts, if you are looking to try something new or if you just so happen to be in the area to check them out. I definitely will be back to tryout the other delicious options they have to offer.”
“We visited Harborview Restaurant & Bar at the Embarcadero in San Francisco in Dec 2024, and it delivered a memorable upscale Cantonese dining experience with stunning views of the Bay Bridge and Ferry Building. Here's what we tried: * Steamed Chicken Feet with Black Bean: Tender and flavorful with the perfect seasoning, the best so far. A great start to the meal. * Deep-Fried Vegetable Spring Rolls: Crispy, light, and filled with fresh vegetables--a satisfying appetizer. * Kurobuta Pork & Shrimp Siu Mai Dumplings: Deliciously juicy and packed with flavor. These dumplings are a must-try! * Shrimp Har Gow Dumplings: Perfectly steamed with a delicate, translucent wrapper and juicy shrimp filling. * Chicken Fried Rice: Well-seasoned and fragrant, though it could have used a bit more chicken. This was a let down. * Congee with Sliced Beef: Comforting and bland with tender slices of beef that melted in our mouths. This was also a let down compared to other places that we have tried the same dish. * Dry Chili Sautéed Tiger Prawns: Bold, spicy, and absolutely delicious--the tiger prawns were perfectly cooked and packed a punch of flavor. * Pan-Fried Chicken Pot Stickers: Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside--exactly what you'd hope for in a pot sticker. * Beef Rice Flour Rolls & Shrimp Rice Flour Rolls: Both were silky and perfectly seasoned, with generous fillings. Ambiance: The restaurant has an elegant yet lively vibe, with floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing beautiful views of the Embarcadero. However, it was quite loud when we visited. Service: The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring that our dishes arrived promptly, though they had way too many tables to handle. It takes a while before someone can attend to you but you place the order and they have processed it, then it works like a charm. Overall: Harborview delivered a fantastic Cantonese dining experience with standout dishes like the siu mai dumplings, chili tiger prawns, and har gow. While the noise level can be a bit high during busy times, the food and views more than make up for it. Highly recommend this spot for anyone seeking authentic Cantonese cuisine in an upscale setting!”
“Ok, so food was tasty… but we got scraps of a duck. We ordered 1/2 a duck, we got 2 wings, couple of ribs and lots of skin. Very disappointing. I kept on looking for some more meat as we ate and just more bones… couldn’t really eat it with the buns. My husband got soup dumplings and those were tasty. We order more food but they must have not put it in so we didn’t even say anything. And at the end they asked us if everything was good… ugh. They didn’t check on us the whole dinner. I think it’s due to the way we look. I haven’t been treated that way in a restaurant in a while so it was shocking especially since this is a vet highly rated and recommended restaurant. They even wanted to sit us in some back table and I had to ask to be in seated in the main area, she wasn’t happy about it but did gave us table in the main dining area.”
